Danielle spotted him before he saw her. He was already at the far end of the park, tucked under the shade of a tree with a blanket spread out beneath him. A large basket sat beside him, the top covered in a floral cloth that screamed Lily packed this. Danielle slowed, wiping her slightly damp palms on the sides of her shorts. Her heartbeat hadn’t really calmed the whole walk here, and now that she was close enough to see Seth, her stomach turned into a tight knot. He looked... unreadable. Calm, maybe. Or just waiting. She paused at the edge of the grass, her sneakers pressing into the dirt path. “Okay,” she muttered under her breath. “It’s just lunch. It’s just Seth.” He looked up then, like he’d heard her thoughts, and gave a small wave. Not a smile, just a wave. Danielle waved back,
