The SUV in front of them pulled over, tires crunching against gravel as it came to a stop. Seth followed suit, easing the vehicle to the side of the road.
Danielle sat up straighter, squinting through the windshield. Trees. Trees and more trees. No signs. No trail markers. No obvious path leading into the woods. Just dense greenery pressing up against the edge of the road like it had swallowed whatever might have been here before.
She frowned. “Is this it?”
Seth nodded, cutting the engine. “This is as close as we’re allowed to drive.”
Danielle looked again, still seeing nothing but forest. “There’s no road.”
“There’s a way,” he said, opening his door. “You just have to know how to look.”
