Chapter 11

I haven't spoken to my kids since that day at court. I believe she took their emergency phone I gave them so that they wouldn't be able to contact me.

Hearing my phone ring I grab it from off the dresser and see that it was the kids calling me.

"Hello". I said as soon as the call connected.

"Daddy come and get us we don't want to be here anymore". Josiah said and I tried my best to hold back my tears.

"I'm sorry man I tired they won't let me near y'all". I said running my hand down my face.

"Daddy you said you would never let anyone take us away from you". Alyssa said into the phone and that's when the tears started to roll.

"I know baby girl I know but I want y'all to know I love y'all so much and I won't stop trying till I get y'all back". I said and I could her something in the background.

"We have to go daddy love you". They said before the phone hung up.

"f**k this s**t". I said to myself snatching my keys off of the dresser and walking out of the room and house.

Locking the door I get in the car and start it up driving off.

~30 minutes later~

Sitting outside her house I watch as she let the kids come outside to play and closed the door back.

Why would she leave them outside by themselves.

I waited a little bit to see if she would come back outside and she didn't. Getting out of the car I walk over.

"DADDY". They yelled as I held my finger over my mouth shushing them.

"Y'all can't be loud I'm not allowed near y'all". I said bringing them into a hug.

"Daddy we want to go back with you". Alyssa said crying as I pushed her hair out of her face.

"I know babygirl and I'm trying". I said kissing her forehead.

"You been taking care of your sister". I ask looking over at Josiah and he nodded.

"I make her sleep in my room she gets the bed and I have a pallet". He said causing me to smile and kiss his forehead.

" You know I appreciate you right Josiah". I said and he nodded smiling.

"Look I have to go". I said looking from them to the door.

Alyssa grabbed my neck holding on tight while Josiah grabbed her trying to get her to let go.

"Baby I promise you I'm gone get y'all back". I said and she let go hugging onto her brother.

Kissing both of their foreheads I hug them before jogging over to my car. Getting in I look over and see them looking at me before looking back at the door that came open revealing Maranda.

She was telling them to come from what I could see and Josiah looked back at me with sad eyes before walking in.

Beating on the steering wheel I try to calm myself down.

Starting the car up I pull off and head towards the house.

Walking inside the house I begin looking for the doctors card that I got that night from when I took them to get the test done.

"What's going on in here". I heard Laila ask from behind me as I threw thing out of my dresser.

"I'm looking for the card and paper from that night I went to get the twins tested". I said as I continued to look through it.

Slamming it the dresser shook and I could hear Laila gasp.

"Where the f**k is it". I ask myself walking out of the room.

"Why don't you call up to the hospital and see if the doctor is still there I remember his name". She said said following behind me.

"What's his name". I ask pulling out my phone.

"Dr. Dean Lee". She said as I was dialing the number to the hospital.

"Hello St. Paul hospital". The person said as soon as the phone rung.

"Is a Dr. Dean Lee still working there". I ask pacing back and forth.

"I'm sorry Dr. Dean suffered a severe stroke that put him out of work a few years ago". She said causing me to sigh.

"Thanks". I said before hanging up.

I'm never getting my kids back man...
