Act 2, Scene 17
Setting: A rooftop, the night sky above and the city spread out below. The air is cool, the only sounds the distant hum of traffic and the occasional rustle of wind. The rooftop feels abandoned, save for two figures — Taeyang and Lee Yeon. The tension between them is thick, almost tangible, as they stand on opposite ends, staring at each other.
⸻
(Taeyang stands against the concrete wall, his body rigid, trying to steady his breathing. He looks at Lee Yeon across the rooftop, but the distance between them feels insurmountable. His hands twitch, wanting to reach out, to escape, but he stays frozen in place. His pulse thunders in his ears.)
⸻
TAEYANG (V.O.)
Why did he come?
Why now?
After everything… why does it feel like he’s pulling me in again?
⸻
(Lee Yeon takes a step forward, his gaze unwavering, unreadable. The space between them grows smaller, but Taeyang still feels far away, like they’re in different worlds entirely. The silence presses on, suffocating.)
⸻
TAEYANG (V.O.)
He kissed me without asking… pinned me down like I was his.
And I let him.
⸻
(Lee Yeon stops just a few feet away from Taeyang. He watches him closely, his expression a mix of something unsettlingly calm and something darker, buried beneath. Taeyang’s breath catches in his throat.)
⸻
TAEYANG
(quietly, shaking his head)
You’ve been following me… watching me.
(He pauses, the words barely a whisper.)
Stalking me.
⸻
(Lee Yeon doesn’t flinch, his lips curling into a faint smile. There’s no guilt, no apology in his eyes—only a quiet, unsettling certainty.)
⸻
LEE YEON
Is that what you think?
(He steps closer, the tension growing between them, suffocating. His voice is low, almost too soft.)
Is that what you believe about me?
⸻
TAEYANG
(voice trembling with frustration)
You kissed me without asking. You forced yourself on me, and I…
(He pauses, his breath shaky.)
I let you.
⸻
(Lee Yeon reaches out, his fingers grazing Taeyang’s cheek in a surprisingly tender touch. Taeyang flinches, a shiver running down his spine. His heart races, part of him wanting to pull away, the other part wanting to stay.)
⸻
LEE YEON
(softly, with a hint of regret)
I wasn’t playing some game with you, Taeyang.
(He steps closer, their bodies nearly touching now, the distance shrinking with every word.)
I couldn’t help myself.
⸻
(Taeyang’s breath hitches as Lee Yeon’s words sink in. His mind spins, confusion and desire warring within him. He wants to push Lee Yeon away, but the pull is magnetic, like something deeper, darker, impossible to ignore.)
⸻
TAEYANG
(voice strained, a mixture of anger and something else)
You hurt me.
⸻
LEE YEON
(voice heavy with an emotion Taeyang can’t read)
I know.
(He reaches for Taeyang, his hand coming to rest on his shoulder, firm, but not forceful.)
But that doesn’t change what I feel.
⸻
(Taeyang’s eyes widen, his pulse quickening, as the weight of Lee Yeon’s touch presses against him. For a moment, everything stops. The city fades away. It’s just them, alone, suspended in time.)
⸻
TAEYANG (V.O.)
Why does it feel like I’m losing myself every time he’s near?
Why can’t I push him away?
⸻
(Lee Yeon leans in closer, his voice dropping to a near whisper, the words laced with a mix of something dangerous and irresistible.)
⸻
LEE YEON
(softly)
I’m not going to let you go.
(He leans in, his lips just barely brushing Taeyang’s ear.)
Not now. Not ever.
⸻
(Taeyang gasps, the shock of Lee Yeon’s words settling deep within him. His heart hammers in his chest, his body frozen, torn between anger and something else he doesn’t want to admit.)
⸻
TAEYANG (V.O.)
What am I supposed to do now?
This… This isn’t how it’s supposed to be.
⸻
(They stand there for what feels like eternity, the space between them so thin it might as well not exist. Taeyang’s heart races in his chest, the room spinning as Lee Yeon’s grip tightens. The tension is unbearable, a moment too fragile, too dangerous to break.)
