The priest welcomed Daniel warmly into his small office. The room was quiet and peaceful, filled with shelves of books and a soft scent of candle wax. Sunlight streamed through the window, giving the room a calm and comforting atmosphere.
“My son, what troubles you?” the priest asked kindly as Daniel placed the cage carefully on the table.
Daniel sighed deeply before beginning his explanation. He told the priest everything—how he had bought the two beautiful parrots, how excited he was at first, and how the birds had quickly turned his life into a series of embarrassing moments. Everywhere he went, the parrots shouted the same shocking words, causing people to stare, laugh, or shake their heads in disapproval.
Just as Daniel finished speaking, one of the parrots suddenly shouted loudly from inside the cage,
“Hello! We’re prostitutes! Let’s have a nice time!”
The priest’s eyebrows lifted in surprise, but he remained calm and composed. After a moment of silence, he gently folded his hands and began to think.
Then a small smile appeared on his face.
“You know,” he said thoughtfully, “I also have two parrots at home.”
Daniel looked at him in surprise.
“But my parrots are very different,” the priest continued. “They pray all day long and even hold rosaries while they pray.”
Daniel stared in disbelief, but the priest nodded confidently.
“Perhaps,” he suggested kindly, “your parrots might learn good behavior from mine.”
Hearing this, Daniel suddenly felt a spark of hope.
