Chapter 6: The Unexpected Answer

One of the male parrots slowly turned his head toward the other. His eyes were wide with surprise, and the rosary in his claw hung loosely as he stared at the two confident female parrots standing nearby.

He leaned slightly toward his companion and whispered excitedly, “Drop the rosary.”

The second male parrot looked puzzled. He tightened his grip on the small rosary and tilted his head. “Why?” he asked quietly, not yet understanding what his friend meant.

The first parrot’s expression suddenly changed from shock to excitement. A wide smile seemed to spread across his face as he glanced again at the female parrots.

“Our prayers have been answered,” he said happily.

For a moment, the entire room became completely silent. Daniel stared at the parrots in disbelief, while the priest blinked in surprise, unsure if he had heard the bird correctly.

Then suddenly the priest threw his head back and burst into loud laughter. He laughed so hard that he had to hold the edge of the table to steady himself.

Daniel could not hold back either. The unexpected response from the “holy” parrots was too funny. He bent forward, laughing and holding his stomach as tears formed in his eyes.
