Chapter Five

1453 Words
HEAVEN Well today started just like any other day I would say, my mom would be just now finishing up breakfast while my dad looks on drinking coffee and reading the paper, this was kind of like their morning ritual. Like clockwork my dad will be calling me down for breakfast so that we can eat breakfast as a family before we all head our separate ways for the day. We live in this quite little town on the outskirts of Houston, Texas in a city called Lapena, Texas, it is an incredibly beautiful city full of life, we are surrounded by the lush green forest lands that kind of hide us away from the big cities that surround us. It is said by many to be a real hidden treasure for those who just so happen to stumble upon it. Dear Diary, Today is May 14, 2018. So, I had one of the craziest dreams last nights, but I swear it felt so real. I have never told anyone about my dreams because I don’t want them thinking I’m crazy or something. It started like any other day I was home finishing up a project for school when I heard a strange noise from outside, that sounded like howling but then I noticed that the movie the howling was playing on television. Crazy right! Laughing at myself. A dream within a dream, I think. Where are you, I can’t see you? Why are you hiding from me? What do you want from me? Unknown voice responds. I am here Heaven; I have always been here hiding in the shadows. If I should show myself to you in this form, you would fear me, and I couldn’t live with myself if you were terrified of me. I want to see you! Before you see me, my name is Kira I wanna see you Kira, what walked out of the woods should have scared the s**t outta me but instead I was utterly calm, as a I watched a midnight black wolf walk towards me. Ho... H... How am I able to hear and talk to you, I stuttered racking my brain? I am apart of you; one day we will meet, and you will understand more when the time is right. I don’t understand what do you mean you are a part of me. Kira just looked at me a little amused and confused, and asked how old are you now? I am 16 I will be turning 17 in a couple of months. Looking even more confused she sits down and stares at me for a little and then she gets up and walks away without saying another word. What the hell was that, now I’m confused as hell. Alright, diary I must end you here got to get ready for school. Who would have known that today of all days would have been the worst day of my life? After closing my diary, I noticed that I had a little over an hour to get ready for the day, I walked into the bathroom to take a quick shower and brush my teeth, thank God I washed my hair two nights ago. I was completing my morning routine, I walked to my closet, and I grabbed a pair of ripped black jeans, a kami tank top, and my blue sweater that hung off the shoulder. Checking myself in the mirror I pulled my hair up into a messy bun, applied some mascara, and a simple nude lip gloss, before I grabbed my boots and backpack. Looking at my phone for a time check, I got a text from Lexi: Lexi: Hey girl, you rolling with us to school? Me: it’s such a beautiful day out I think I’ll walk, see you at school Lexi: alright see you then Heaven, Heaven, baby girl come on down breakfast is ready, I heard my father’s voice boom bringing me out of my thought. “I’m on my way” I responded as I was heading down the stairs… “Good morning”, I said smiling as I reached the kitchen. “Good morning darling”, dad responded while still reading the morning paper. “Good morning sweetheart”, my mother said smiling as she continued to put the breakfast on the table. We were having my all-time favorite strawberry pancakes, scrambled eggs with cheese, bacon, sausage, toast, with orange juice or lemonade. She always has a smile on her face I have never seen her without one come to think of it... strange right. She was to me just an incredibly happy person. My mother is an exceptionally beautiful woman she stands about 5’3, 200 pounds, long brown hair that reached to the middle of her back, hazel brown eyes, small little cute button nose, full lips and a set of dimples any woman would kill for, with the most flawless chocolate skin, but the prettiest thing about my mother is her smile. She has a smile that could turn any bad day or situation positive. My dad on the other hand is a very handsome man, considered to be a gentle giant by anyone who has ever met him, he stands about 6’3, 220 pounds, very muscular man with salt and pepper hair, greyish blue eyes, caramel complexion and has the most perfect smile. When my father smiles, he could light up the darkest moods. I love them both, I couldn’t have asked for a better life or a better set of parents. Once we were done with our family breakfast, it was time for us to get our days started, “time for school” I stated as I kissed my mom and hugged my dad before walking out the door. As I was walking to school, I thought that I could use this time some to think more about the strange dream that I had last night, plus I enjoyed the scenery I loved the way the trees and the leaves look at this time of year. I was so caught up in the scenery around me that I forgot all thoughts about the dream that I had when I noticed how close I was to the school. Walking up towards the front door of the school watching the other students rushing to make it in before the first bell began to ring ...I was quite popular at school with us living in a small town, Well you see I stand about 5’6, weighing somewhere around 185- 190 depending on the season, a little past shoulder length reddish brown hair with a blonde patch going down the side most would think that my hair is dyed that way, but my mom told me it has been that way since birth. I have ocean blue eyes with a tint of grey, caramel complexion with curves that any grown woman would beg God to have. If you were to look at me and look at my parents, you would think that we didn’t belong to the same family. But at this moment I am on my way heading to go meet up with my best friends Alexius, Morgan, and Kol. "Hey guys, so what’s new", I said walking up to my friends smiling like I haven’t seen them in forever. “Hey Heaven”, they all said, Alexius or Lexi as we called her and Morgan (Mo) was holding a deep conversation about their upcoming birthday, and when I say upcoming, I mean it's in September so yeah, they start early. “We were thinking we would send the invitations out once summer break starts. What do you think about this color scheme here”? Lexi asked while smiling wide. I swear these girls could think of the most elaborate colors for a party but this one I have to say was simple yet elegant it was a black and gold masquerade ball with just a hint of pink. Lexi and Mo are identical twins, they are both about 5’8 weighing in at 170, with caramel complexions and beautiful hazel brown with a hint of green eyes; the only way that you can tell them apart is by the color of their hair; Lexi hair is like a fire engine red, and Mo’s is like the raven midnight bluish black. Kol on the other hand was just standing there amused that these girls could talk and plan so much in so little time. Little did he know they have been planning this birthday party all year it’s their sweet 16. You would have never known that we are all a year apart by how close we all are.
