Chapter Twenty

Alexa's P . O . V

The images I saw of Haples when I looked it up online are nothing compared to what I'm seeing right now.

I landed at the airport several minutes ago, tired and exhausted after my approximately nine hours flight.

I now presently sat at the back seat of a Taxi admiring the beautiful streets.

It was a few minutes past Nine O'clock in the evening but the Streets remained busy with a whole lot of people and varieties of cars driving on the wide road that was illuminated by the tall street lights that spread out across everywhere.

Greece Land was an undebatable beauty with nice natural scenery yes, and a great place to raise a family but it can't be anything compared to what I now stared wide eyed at.

"Miss, do you have a Specific choice hotel or anyone will do just fine?" The taxi driver asked tilting up his head and peering at me from his rear view mirror.

"Uhhh..... Take me to one of your finest hotels please" I answered brightly before turning back to face my window.

Though my eyes were heavy from fatigue and the urge to close them and fall into a deep sleep, I couldn't help but admire and appreciate the environment.

"Ma'am, we're here" I heard the driver whisper waking me up from my sudden sleep.

It was no surprise at all to me that I had fallen asleep because at some point, I started to see most of the buildings split into two equal twin halves.

"Oh.. Thank you." I replied adjusting in my seat wiping my face and digging into bag for my purse.

I grabbed hold of my purse in my bag and pulled it out flinging the cover open, I handed over a few dollar note which he took from me.

"Keep the Change" I added as I climbed down smiling at his beaming old face.

He nodded his appreciation and flashed me a smile that revealed his displaced set of teeth before he sped off down the road leaving me standing with my luggage.

I turned behind me and my eyes fell upon an enormous building. It didn't have many storeys but it sure as hell was wide.

"Good evening Miss, Welcome to Royal Choice Hotel" A male voice announced.

I raked my eyes down the building and they now rested on his face. I stupidly nodded my head when I realized he and his colleagues dressed in the exact same blue and black uniform awaited a response from me.

"Please Come this way" he said ushering me in with his hand bowing slightly as his colleague carefully took my luggage in.

I followed in behind him and we entered into the building which was just as enormous as the exterior.

I skated over to the receptionist's desk fighting the urge to collapse on the neat shiny white marble floor and continue in my sleep.

"Hello, I'll like to reserve a room please" I announced blessing the plump looking young female receptionist with a great view of my teeth.

"Oh Hello! I'm Penilva, Good evening and welcome to Royal Choice hotel, I see you're quite tired, I'll speed up the process." She replied in a sharp and clear voice.

Penilva? That's a really weird name I thought to myself wearing a silly expression while she continued beaming at me. If at all she noticed my facial expression, she didn't show it as she kept on asking me questions and typing on her keyboard, her small eyes glued on the monitor's screen.

"That will be all" she said rising to her feet and picking out a single key and handing it over to me revealing her impressive height for someone that chubby and her neatly ironed bright white customized button down shirt with two blue stripes down the short sleeves.

"Would you like anything else?" She asked me as I took the key that held a room number imprinted on it

"I think I'm good for now" I replied after shaking my head.

"Dinner?" She asked smiling

"Yes Please, Dinner sounds great" I admitted remembering I haven't really had anything serious to eat except a few chocolate bar and chips I had at the plane instantly regretting why I declined Mrs Cruz's cupcake offer.

"What would you like to have? Room service will be up with your order in no time" she informed me picking up a pen.

"I really don't know" I admitted frowning as I searched my head for any ideas or particular cravings.

Well, at the moment, all I wanted was food! Regardless of type, shape, color or whatsoever. Anything at all is fine by me that's except fish though. How does anyone ever enjoys eating fish? Yuck... I'm so not a fan. Well.... I was not until a bone got stuck in my throat once when I was only just seven and ever since then, Fish has been a no no for me.

"It's quite cold, maybe spicy beef chilly with butternut squash would be nice, oh... Or maybe creamy turkey and vegetable casserole? Or perhaps Soda mushroom and mushroom soup or....." She kept suggesting looking more pleased with each new suggestion than the former.

"Spicy beef chilly with butternut squash is fine thank you" I concluded cutting her off.

She was quite chatty, especially when we got to the food topic, I'm pretty sure her chubby fat wasn't some hereditary trait.

"Alright. I'll place your order immediately" she replied putting down her pen after writing down my order.

"Thank you" i said camly and turned to leave.

"Have a good night rest, And please do enjoy your stay here" she called out after I turned my back to her.

Too tired to continue in the conversation, i turned back to wave briefly and flash her a tight smile before walking towards the elevator with the staff that held my luggage.

We got to the front of a room on the uppermost floor that held a golden number 114 on it.

I slipped in the key and pushed the door open, the valet walked in and placed my box on a short shelf just behind the door and I thanked him and offered him a few notes which he didn't reject then he left leaving me now alone in my hotel room.

The room was a little bigger than mine back home, it had chocolate brown walls with cute little splashes of white painted designs all over. It had silky black curtains that hung all the way from the top down to just above the white marble tiles.

I kicked off my shoes and jumped into the queen sized bed that could conveniently accommodate four more people exactly my size.

I felt my muscles relax as I sank into the matress. I decided to call Jake as I waited for my dinner.

Struggling out of bed again, I reached for the smaller one of my bag and pulled out my laptop.

I jumped back into the bed and pulled the laptop closer to me and encircling it with my legs.

I packed my hair up roughly in a loose bun as I waited for the screen to finish booting.

"Hey Coz" I greeted as his face appeared on my screen.

"Hey" he responded dryly yawning and rubbing his eyes.

"Were you asleep?" I asked frowning as he went on and on from one loud yawn to another.

"It's bloody 3 AM here, of course I was asleep" he responded dryly.

"Oh" I managed to say forgetting I had crossed different time zones as I dragged my eyes down to the left corner of the screen to check the time that read 10:02 PM.

"How was your flight?" He asked peering into his screen with his sleepy eyes.

"It was fine! I'm in my hotel room right now" I informed him turning the screen round to allow him a better view of the room.

"Nice, really nice" he commented sounding pleased.

"I know right" I replied turning the scream back to me.

"Had anything to eat yet?" He asked

"No, not yet, dinner is on the way though" I replied him shaking my head.

"Okay but make sure you get enough-" Jake began

"Just a moment" I said cutting him off and raising a finger to silence him.

"Come in" I screamed after confirming the knock on the door with a voice that followed announcing "room service."

The door swung open and a four wheeled table was rolled in with a large covered tray above it.

"Your Dinner Ma'am" he announced before bowing and walking backwards out of the room before I could even so much as mutter a thank you.

"You going to eat now?" Jake asked pulling my attention back to him as he must have obviously the short announcement.

"Yeah, I am, I'm quite hungry" I informed him nodding.

"Okay, go eat and have plenty of rest okay?" He replied.

"Okay" I simply said now struggling to my feet while holding the laptop in my hand.

"I'll call you at a more convenient time tomorrow" he informed me rubbing his chin.

"Okay..... Goodnight Jakey" I replied waving with one hand and balancing the laptop on the other.

"Goodnight Sis" he replied before he vanished from the screen.

I closed the laptop and placed it on the bedside table before skating over to where my dinner stood waiting for me.

I took the tray up with me and walked over to the bed and got comfortable in it. I opened up the tray and the aroma that hit my nose next was pleasant and only made my stomach rumble the more.

Taking my cutlery, I stabbed a small piece of beef with my fork and popped it into my mouth, it wasn't too spicy nor was it too hard or too soft, it was just perfect.

Turns out Spicy beef chilly with butternut squash was a great choice after all thanks to Penolope.

Penelope? Was it Penolope? Or something Penile? Or was it Pelvis? No hell no, that's a structure of the body.

"Yeah well, whichever name it was, Thanks to you!" I said out loud to throwing a salute in the air intended for the Receptionist as I popped another beef into my mouth.

I finished every bit of my dinner and got myself ready for bed, I switched off the bright fluorescence bulbs and tucked myself in then a thought played it's way into my head which got me feeling nervous,

I'm finally in Haples, Now what?
