Chapter Four

"Brie wake up!" Aunt Audry whispered softly shaking her trying to wake her up from sleep.

Brenda grumbled and mumbled several meaningless words before slowly flicking her eyes open and squeezed them shut almost immediately as they came in contact with the bright rays of sunshine seeping through her fully opened window.

She sat up and blocked away the sun with her hand while she looked around her room trying to process the environment

"Morning Auntie" She greeted yawning when her eyes finally settled on her Aunt's face.

"Morning sweetie, you've been asleep for almost forever" Aunt Audry replied pulling her up so she could get out of bed.

"What time is it?" Brenda asked stretching out her arms as she rose up and balanced her two feet on the ground.

"It's a few minutes past Eleven Brie, have your bath and come have something to eat okay?" Aunt Audry responded

"Okay...." Brenda replied yawning all the way to her bathroom.

She took a very relaxing bath and just soaked in the tub for several minutes with her eyes shut and her mind trying not to think about how fast her life is turning around.

She eventually pulled herself out of the tub and dried off her hair while several drops of water drained down her body.

She wrapped her towel over her chest and stepped out into her bedroom only to meet Alexa all stretched out on her bed reading a Fashion magazine.

"What are you doing here?" Brenda asked with a raised eyebrow still gently pressing the towel into her thick hair.

"What?.... I can't pay my sister a visit?" Alexa questioned now sitting up on the bed putting the magazine away.

"Yeah sure..... But don't ruin anything, Because the last time you 'paid me a visit' I spent hours bringing my room back to shape" Brenda replied returning back to the bedroom with a pair of clothes she just snatched from her closet.

"Well excuse me for trying to make your room feel lively, this place is no different from an old man's room, it's just so......... brown." Alexa countered gazing round the room with a displeased expression.

"Yeah? Just like your room is no different from a strictly for girls kindergarten, it's just so.......... pink" Brenda bit back glaring at her from the mirror she now sat in front combing her hair.

"Yeah whatever" Alexa replied rolling her eyes before crashing back to the bed.

"I'm so bored" Alexa whined reaching out for her magazine and spreading it out over her face.

"That's right! Why don't we go out on a girls day out! Just me and you sis, what do you say???" Brenda asked exited at her excellent idea now turning to face Alexa who sprang up to a sitting position with so much energy.

"Hell yeah I'm in" Alexa declared sharing her sister's excitement.

"Good.... Go put something on, we leave after breakfast" Brenda informed her turning back to face her mirror.

Alexa vigorously nodded and without saying a word, sped out of the room leaving her magazine behind.

Brenda was finally satisfied with the look of her hair and stood up to put on her clothes.

She threw on a Casual Peach colored shirt that had the word 'Belle' written on it in bold black characters, she put on a black skinny jean and paired it with black Snickers.

She glanced at her reflection in the mirror and smiled in satisfaction before picking up her sunglasses then walked out of the room shutting the door behind her.

She went into Alexa’s room and found her struggling into her deep red skinny jean.

Brenda rolled her eyes at Alexa and crashed on her bed, pulled out her phone and began playing candy crush.

Alexa finally fitted herself into her jean and threw on a shirt before picking up her phone and hat and flung her small clutch purse in Brenda’s direction and it crash landed on her laps.

Brenda raised her head slightly and glared at Alexa.

“I’ve been dying to do that” Alexa confessed laughing loudly at her sister’s expression able to dodge in time as the purse came back flying in her direction with a bit more force.

“Let’s get going” Brenda replied shaking her head after her laughter had died down.

She raised herself from the bed stretched out her body before reaching for Alexa and dug her phone into her back pocket.

Alexa took Brenda's hand and they walked out hand in hand while she closed the door behind them and they headed for the stairs.

"Hey Auntie, Hey Mrs. Cruz" Alexa greeted cheerfully as she walked into the kitchen and found both women sitting and helping themselves to sandwiches and fruit salad.

"Come over girls, we saved some for you" Aunt Audry replied raising a plate full of sandwiches as Brenda appeared behind Alexa waving.

The girls went over to the mini table and sat with the older ladies chatting and stuffing their bellies full with delicious home made sandwiches.

"Alexa and I will be heading out for some girl time" Brenda announced when they were done eating and clearing up now standing in the large sitting room at the foot of the staircase.

"Alright..... Have all the fun in the world my little angels" Aunt Audry cooed

“Be back on time okay? we’re having roast duck for dinner” Aunt Audry added walking towards them and tucked a few strands of hair behind Alexa’s hair before kissing both girls on their cheeks..

Mrs. Cruz disappeared back into the kitchen and returned seconds later with a can of orange juice she handed over to Alexa who flashed her a wide grin before taking the can in her hand.

They both waved goodbye to Mrs. Cruz and Aunt Audry before they walked across the spacious living room heading towards the front door.

Where are you guys going without me?" Jake demanded stopping them just in time before they walked out the door.

"Oh I'm sorry, it's girls only" Brenda informed him sharply.

"Well......... I could tag along to protect you both as your big brother, right mom?" Jake asked glancing up at his mom.

"Leave the girls alone Jake, go out for a drive or something, don't bother them" his Mom replied waving him off before disappearing into the house.

"Driving alone is no fun at all" Jake replied in a matter of fact tone.

"Oh! perhaps you could invite Collins over and you guys could do something fun like maybe go out on a drive or play some video games together?" Mrs. Cruz suggested

"You mean that weird kid that lives next door? No thanks"

Jake declined without a second thought.

"I'll be in my room" He added

"All Alone!" He added again before heading up the stairs

"Since y'all don't want me" He added again glancing at his cousins over his shoulders as he sluggishly made his way up the stairs.

"Alright fine.... You can tag along" Brenda said sighing loudly

"I told ya Mrs Cruz, no one can resist me! no one" Jake said with a triumphant grin as he skipped over to the girls

Alexa and Brenda both rolled their eyes at Jake's comment.

"Don't roll your eyes at your big brother Brie" Jake said ruffling Brenda's hair.

"You're not my big brother Jake, we are age mates!" Brenda replied slapping off his hand from her now scattered hair she spent hours trying to style as the three of them walked out through the door arguing.

Mrs. Cruz shook her head at the kids and disappeared back into the kitchen.

Alexa sat behind while Jake climbed in grudgingly beside Brenda at the front after she sternly refused to let him drive.

“Should we go gaming or shopping?” Brenda asked as she slipped into the car and tried to arrange her hair in place through her driver's rear view mirror.

“Let’s go Shopping!” Alexa replied without hesitation grinning widely.

"Hell no! we'll definitely go gaming" Jake countered.

“Shopping it is” Brenda declared shooting Jake a cunning smirk.

Jake slapped his Right hand on his beautiful face and sank into his seat.

"Buckle up guys, this driver is about to get Fast and Furious" Brenda announced as she strapped on her seatbelt and roared the engine to life.

"I seriously should have stayed back at home" Jake declared for the fifteenth time to himself as he lagged behind the girls holding up three large shopping bags he could barely see where he was going.

The past few hours has been nothing but girly screamings totally uncalled for, endless shoppings, watching Brie try on some Uptight dresses that made her look way older than she actually was but still managed to look elegant while Alexa literally looked alot like Minnie mouse in a lot of dresses he didn't hesitate to turn down.

He dumped the bags into the booth of the car and much to his dismay, he now found himself seated in a salon watching a young lady apply some sorta lotion thing to Brie's freshly stretched hair while Alexa was getting her nails done.

Jake sighed and sank into his quite relaxing arm chair now admiring the beauty of the building as he found nothing of interest in the tall stack of fashion related magazines that rested next to him on a mini desk.

The large building was exquisitely designed with class and so much elegance. The high ceilings in particular caught his attention as his eyes traced the endless white silver coated railings that ran across the pure white background.

"Hey Coz" Alexa said appearing in front of him making him finally pull his eyes away from the ceiling as they now rested on her obviously excited face.

"Hey Jake" Brie called out as she headed towards them both flipping her beautifully transformed hair.

"Do you need something from here before we leave?" Brenda asked scanning the room with her eyes.

"Yeah sure, I need a box of nail polish and a pack of edge control." Jake bit back with sarcasm evident in his voice.

"We can now get going" Brenda declared chuckling.

"How about we stop over for a quick game before heading home" Brenda added grinning as they all stepped outside heading towards the parking lot.

She tossed the car keys at Jake before he could even say a word.

"Finally, it's time for my definition of fun" Jake muttered to himself as he climbed into the driver's seat and firmly gripped the steering while Alexa and Brenda got in after him.

He roared the engine to live and took them on a little Joy ride round Greeze land until they arrived at the gaming center.

Alexa took on Jake on several rounds of Mortal Kombat with Brenda watching from behind cheering as they now stood at a draw.

"Guys, make this the last round okay? I promised we'll be back in time for dinner" Brenda pleaded

"Okay Mom!" Jake replied with a roll of his eyes.

"Now! Let's see who's King" Jake added cracking his fingers and facing the screen with total concentration.

"Bring it on!" Alexa challenged him with a devilish smirk while Brenda stood behind and shook her head at them both.

The last round was a tough one as the game went on and on till Jake eventually emerged victorious.

They finally left the premises after Jake finished his overdramatic 'victory dance.'

They made a final stop for some bowls of vanilla flavoured icecream, they sat at the pack and enjoyed their bowls of icecream chatting and laughing before they all decided it was time to get going.

Brenda drove the car back home with the three of them singing along to the song blasting loudly on the stereo, she pulled up by the driveway and some maids gathered round to welcome them and offload the overly packed booth.

Alexa raced Jake to the front door while Brenda strolled in behind them.

She got in and was beckoned over to the already set table by her Aunt Audry, she went over to the table and helped herself to a chair next to Jake while Alexa was showing off her pink coloured nails designed with tiny red hearts to Aunt Audry.

Roast duck for dinner was surely the very best way to end a day like this.
