The Creation Chronicles: Judy Part Two: The End (9)

Judy goes to a gas station and buys a gallon of gas in a red jerry can. As she is getting the gas, she seems like a perfectly normal person. However, she lies to the attendant, which is out of character for Judy. Even though Judy is blind, she knows not everyone knows that and says, “My car broke down on the side of the road. I need gas to get it going.” Judy had never lied in her life. While in her right mind, she never would have allowed this kind of behavior. Judy would have preferred to never speak again than tell a lie.

Judy walks into her office building in downtown Saint Louis. When she walks into the office building, she does so casually since, to her, everything feels perfectly normal.

It happens in a heartbeat. She shakes someone’s hand and flicks them against the wall, as though they were a bug. When the person hits the wall, they explode on impact and their guts splatter all over the wall. This has happened a few times. It becomes a bloodbath. Judy takes her red jerry can and pours gasoline over printers, computers, copiers, and office supplies. Judy is a secretary for an office supply company. The company is on the 13th floor of a corporate office building, which is already a bad sign. Judy is laughing hysterically. It’s like she is possessed by the devil. Her eyes are bright red since this other person that she was walking with earlier is somehow controlling her actions. The red eyes give Judy the power of sight, but take away her inhibitions. Judy is ready to kill, and the reason will come to light soon. Some of her coworkers get on their knees and pray, including some nonbelievers. The red eyes seem to give Judy a quick jolt of energy. She runs around the mile-long office in seconds. While she does, she grabs a carton of matches.

“Well, the party is about to begin. If my boss won’t show himself, then we will just have to start without him.”

Judy takes her jerry can and takes one more run around the office. She douses everything in gasoline and then sets it on fire with her matches. People panic and try to run out of the building. However, metal shutters are deployed if there is a fire to contain the blaze. These security doors also have the unfortunate consequence of trapping people inside the building. Some people are trampled, and then they catch fire. The blaze is rapidly becoming an inferno.

Judy has a deranged look on her face. People who know Judy know that she was getting a raw deal at work. They know she is unhappy. Deep down, Judy is this unhappy. The flames are getting higher and higher. Everybody is looking at Judy, who has blood on her face. Judy is standing in the middle of the room, with smoke and fire swirling all around. It’s chaotic. Security rushes downstairs. Four security guards are on their radios. The security guards realize that they cannot handle this situation on their own and call desperately for backup. They surround Judy. A guard stands beside Judy.

“Listen, you need to stand down, okay? We can talk about this. Maybe someone can help you, but we don’t want to have to hurt you.”

The guards whip out their handcuffs. Judy has a big smile on her face.

“Listen to me very carefully. This workplace is toxic, and no one ever believed me. They thought I was just one of those people who always complain about their job. Work is terrible, so I’m burning it all down.”

As she speaks, a printer explodes, and flames rise like they are dancing. One of the guards approaches Judy.

“All right, b***h, it’s time to go.”

She flips the guard over her head. The guard lands hard on the floor and blood trickles out of his eyes before he explodes. Blood flies everywhere, as co-workers are caught in the flames and the flames explode in their faces. Two of the guards approach Judy.

“You need to come with us now. This needs to end. We won’t go down as easily.”

Judy grabs one guard and breaks every bone in his arm. The guard yells out in pain and falls to the floor. She grabs the other guard by the chin and breaks his neck with her pinkie finger. She picks up the other guard and jabs her thumb straight through his neck, so his head pops off. His body drops to the floor.

The fourth guard is horrified, but he knows he has a job to do and will take out the garbage if he needs to. The guard takes a deep breath. He says to himself, “Come on, Lamar, you can do this. It’s time to shine and get a f*****g raise.”

Judy slowly walks toward the guard and says, “I’m waiting for you, Lamar.”

Lamar is shaking and Judy jumps in front of him and screams. Blood cascades from Lamar’s ears, from her horrifying screams, and his face explodes from the sound of her shrieks. Other terrified coworkers watch the flames engulf the room.

Judy walks over to them. Her red eyes temporarily turn to her normal color. She says, “I can’t control myself much longer. Get out of here while you can. Go now!”

She lifts the gate up and releases the survivors. They run out of the building. She slams it down when she hears her fat, chain-smoking boss Ron trying to run out. Judy’s eyes turn red.

“Hello, Ron. Long time, no see.”

Ron is shaking.

“Look, look, honestly, I have no control over payment. It, it’s what the company tells me to pay, and I listen to them very carefully. I just take my commands from the top.”

Judy grabs Ron and lifts him up. “Is that why you treated me like I was a piece of s**t, Ron? The corporation told you to? Is that the truth?”

Ron continues trembling and tears stream down his face. “Look, Judy, I am an asshole. That’s just who I am. I try to be fair. If I came off as mistreating you, well, then, i-it’s a little of who I am. Hell, my third wife knew that when she married me.”

Judy is pissed off and wants to do nothing more than break Ron’s skull in two. Judy takes a deep breath. She drops Ron and smiles at him. Judy thrusts her middle finger at Ron.

“f**k you.”

Judy’s whole body is engulfed in flames and explodes. The fireball rips through the entire building. Everything is caught in the explosion. No one and nothing, including the building, survives.
