Chapter 7: A Slut's Contract

1053 Words
Mia's POV "It's something you can do" Damien added as he leaned back against his desk watching me with those calm gray eyes. I stopped with my hand already on the door handle and turned around slowly. My heart was still racing from everything that just happened. "What offer?" I asked because I didn't trust anything coming from him right now. He didn't move closer and now he was so close to me that I could feel his breathe on me, but his voice stayed even. "I want to hire you at the club you came to that first night. The same one." I stared at him feeling the anger rise again fast. "What the hell?" I said my voice getting louder. "What kind of girl do you think I am exactly?" I felt my cheeks burn because the words sounded ridiculous even to me after what he saw me do that night. "You think I'm some kind of slut you can just hire? I'm not that type of person Damien." He stayed completely calm like my shouting didn't affect him at all. He crossed his arms and looked at me for a second before speaking. "I liked how you handled yourself that night Mia. You have potential and I think you would do a good job there. But I'm not offering any more free help for your mother. The money I already spent will need to be repaid one way or another using your body and your time." I shook my head hard because none of this felt real. "No way. I'm not doing that." "It's not like you'll be working as a slut for random people" he continued still calm. "You can serve drinks and work privately as my own woman. Under my direct control. Like my property and no one else touches you." The way he said it made my stomach twist. I ranted back at him because the words wouldn't stop. "I have no interest in having anything with you. What happened that night was the end for us. If you can't even separate pleasures from work like this, I wonder what kind of man you are. You can't just decide to control my life because you paid some hospital bills." He didn't shout or get angry. He just watched me with that same composed look and said quietly " I then turned toward the door again ready to walk out and never look back. "I have an offer though" he repeated before I could open the door fully. I froze because something in his tone made me pause even though I didn't want to. But I didn't turn around this time. I just pulled the door open and stormed out of his office slamming it harder than I meant to. My legs felt shaky as I walked down the hallway and out of the building. The moment I stepped outside heavy rain started pouring down hard. I didn't bring an umbrella so the water soaked through my white shirt in seconds making it stick to my skin even more. I muttered "What the hell is going on?" as I wrapped my arms around myself and kept walking home fast. The rain was cold and it mixed with the heat still lingering on my face from that whole scene in his office. By the time I reached the dorm it was already late at night. The gate was almost closed so I had to rush through quickly before it shut completely. I was dripping wet and shivering when I pushed open our room door. Lila was inside looking worried sick. She jumped up the second she saw me. "Mia where have you been?" she asked as she came closer. "It's so late and you're all wet what happened?" I apologized quickly while trying to catch my breath. "I'm sorry for worrying you like this." I sat on my bed still dripping and tried to wipe some water from my face. Lila told me I missed one of the classes today and that she helped mark attendance for me so I wouldn't get in trouble. I thanked her and we talked a bit about the assignments they gave in class and other school stuff. Then I opened up and told her everything. About the night at the club Damien turning out to be the professor him moving my mom without asking and the new offer to work at the club under his control. I explained it all while wringing water from my shirt. Lila listened carefully then gave me that practical look she always had. "Mia you should do whatever it takes to get the money for your mom" she said as she sat beside me. "You're already an adult you're twenty-two after all. You're old enough to make your own choices. And the man is cute too so it's not the worst thing right?" That was Lila for you, she found all men cute bad felt girls could be with as much as they can at once since you'll get caged once married anyways. Even in our first year, Lila had four boyfriends at once and they all had their shifts. We also talked about the rent. Lila pulled out her phone and showed me the message she got earlier. "Look at this" she said as she held the screen toward me. "I got this rent reminder today too. My dad isn't really rich at the moment so I can't even help much. I wish I could pay the full rent for you though." I looked at the message on her phone and sighed because I had received the same one earlier but didn't want to make her feel worse. "Don't feel bad or bother about it Lila" I told her as I shook my head. "Don't worry I'll find a way to sort out my rent" I said trying to sound sure even though I wasn't. While we were still talking like that my phone vibrated on the bed. I picked it up and saw a new message from Damien the lecturer. He had sent me a contract document. I stared at the screen my heart pounding hard not knowing what to do next. Lila asked "What is it?" but I just kept looking at the contract frozen.
