Chapter 12

1627 Words
"How much longer until we get there?" Alex asked John for the 7th time since they have been in the car. "40 minutes, and you need to chill. We don't even know if she is actually there," John spoke from the driver's seat. Alex couldn't help it, he was anxious. He was hoping that Amelia was that stupid to text from their actual location.       As soon as Alex saw the text he contacted John and he was able to pin point where the text came from. The location the text came from was only two hours away, and now that they were getting closer to her, Alex was a ball of nerves. He wanted to see Angeline, and make sure that she was safe. He also really wanted to punch that bastard in the face for taking her.      Alex was confused by Amelia's message, what did she mean bride to be? There was no way Angeline was marrying Derek, something wasn't adding up. He just wanted to get there but the miles seemed to be never ending.  ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~      Angeline was currently sitting on the bed that she had spent the last 4 days sleeping on, her arms wrapped tightly around her legs. She was terrified of what Derek was going to do next.      Downstairs when she saw what Derek was doing to Amelia, she tried to get him to let go of her and when he finally did Amelia fell to the floor, not moving. Before she could go check on Amelia Derek had grabbed Angeline by the back of her neck, dragging her back up the stairs and threw her on the bed.      Now he was in the closet doing something, when he finally came back out he had a duffel bag full of clothes. Angeline just stared at him, afraid to move, afraid to speak. "Don't look at me like that," he growled at her. She looked away, not wanting to be his next victim. His next words surprised her, "Get changed, we need to leave now."     She was confused as to why and when she didn't move to go change, he grabbed the collar of her shirt bringing them face to face, "I said to get the f**k up and go change your damn clothes. NOW!" He released her clothing she quickly got off the bed and ran into the bathroom to quickly change.      When she came out of the bathroom, she was happy to see that Derek was not there. The duffel bag was gone as well. She didn't understand why they needed to leave so quickly. Maybe it had something to do with the text that Amelia sent. Was it possible that she sent it to Alex? She smiled at the thought of that and really hoped that it meant that he was on his way to get her.      Angeline heard Derek cursing from downstairs, then she heard heavy footsteps coming up the stairs. He stopped in the doorway, seeing that she was dressed. Derek looked like he wanted to say something, but the words wouldn't come out. Before Angeline could say anything, he was in front of her looking down. Out of nowhere she felt a pinch on her arm, she looked over and saw Derek holding a syringe, the needle jammed into her flesh. She looked back at him and then everything went black.   ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~     "This is the place," John announced as they pulled up to a cabin. "Try to stay calm and don't do anything stupid. Let my team handle it," Alex's only response to the request was a nod of the head. Another car was pulling up behind them and John's men made their way out of it. They started their search by looking around the outside of the cabin first before forcing their way inside.     John had stayed behind with Alex, both remaining in the car. Alex could tell John was hearing something from the earpiece in his ear. John shook his head, "Are you sure?" John paused to wait for a response, "Damn it!" John turned to look at Alex, even though the look on his face said it all. "The house is empty. No sign of Derek, Angeline or Amelia. It does look like they left in a hurry though. So I think she was here, but Derek was smart and left as soon as Amelia sent that text."         Alex needed to punch something, he was so close and yet still so very far away from getting her back. "So what do we do now?" Alex asked, knowing he wasn't going to like the answer.      "Well, we will continue to search the place and see if there are any clues that can help us lead to his next location. Maybe he made a mistake and left something behind. I have surveillance on his place and hers, maybe we will get lucky and he's stupid enough to bring her to either place," John answered.     He was right, he wasn't happy with the answer. But what could he do, he knew John was doing all that he could. Alex just needed to stay calm and remain patient. As both men climbed out of the car to make their way in to see what they could find, John's phone starting ringing. "Hello? You have got to be kidding me," John spoke to the person on the phone and was staring at Alex. A smile slowly stretching across his face.     John turned back towards the car, "Get in Alex, I'll explain on the way."  ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~     The room was dark and there was a horrible smell, Angeline tried to keep her eyes open but they were still heavy from what Derek had injected in to her. Whatever she was laying on was hard as a rock, she was pretty sure she was laying on a cement floor. She couldn't hear anything and it was freezing. As she moved to curl up to warm herself, a noise echoed through the room. She felt the weight of her hands and realized what was causing it...     Chains.      Two identical chains were attached to her wrists. The metal cuffs were so tight they were causing her skin to redden every time she moved.     She sat on the ground trying to focus on where she could be. The echo from the chains as they clanked on the ground gave her the impression that she was in a very large room. She couldn't make out any windows, even if it was dark, some sort of light would've shined through them. She had no idea how long she had been out and no clue how far Derek had taken her away from the cabin, away from Alex.      As she sat waiting, for what she wasn't sure, a loud screeching noise sliced through the silence. It looked like part of the wall was raising, it appeared as a large garage door was opening. The light revealed just how large the space was, she had to be in some kind of warehouse. The figure that stood in the light looked minuscule but the power that they emitted was most definitely not.     She couldn't see exactly who it was, but she was pretty confident that she knew who it was.     Derek!    He slowly made his way over to Angeline, the sound of his shoes hitting the cement floor ran chills down her spine.      She kept her eyes focused on the ground, waiting for his shoes to come into view. When they did, she stiffened, and waited for him to speak.     Derek stood in front of Angeline, looking down at her. So many emotions racing through his body. He loved this woman, and wanted her to love him back, but why was the universe so against his plan to be with her.     He slowly knelt down in front of her, placed his index finger under her chin to lift her head so she was looking straight at him. He hated the look in her eyes, she was terrified. She was terrified of him. Derek knew that the little scene with Amelia was going to scar her, make her fear him. But Amelia did something stupid, something that would bring Alex right to them. And he couldn't let that happen.      As Derek stared deep into Angeline's beautiful honey eyes he took a deep breath and spoke, "I'm sorry about the chains, but it's safer this way. I can't have you trying to get away." Angeline only stared back, not really sure as what to say to the man. He tried to sound to calm, but the look in his eyes was speaking way louder than the actual words that came from his mouth.      He was angry, and although she hadn't caused him to feel this way, she felt as though he was blaming her. She wanted to look away, but when she tried to he gripped her chin to bring her eyes right back to his. A tear fell from her eye and when he went to wipe it away, she flinched.      He aggressively released her chin, resulting in her head smacking against the wall she was leaning against. He stood and took a few steps away from her. Seeing her in the chains was causing a very familiar reaction to rise within him. He had so many fantasies of chaining her up, ripping her clothes off little by little and then fully making her his.      Angeline shifted on the floor, trying to bring herself even closer to the wall. Trying to put even more space between the two of them. Something in the air had changed after he stood up, the anger he once was emitting was replaced by another emotion.     He was now looking at her with Desire. Lust. Need.
