Once again Angeline found herself in the car with Alex driving to a mysterious location. This time however Alex wasn't the one driving, John had shown up with his security team and was sitting in the drivers seat. Lexie was happily sitting in the passenger seat, leaving Alex and Angeline to sit in the back. They were following behind the black SUV that contained four very large security guards. When the men had entered the cabin, Angeline had immediately clung to Alex when she saw them. They radiated power, and Angeline did not want to get in their way. She knew they were there to protect her, but she couldn't help the fear they caused her.
Angeline noticed how Lexie looked at John whenever he spoke, she had a feeling that there was something going on there. He was a tall well built guy, with dirty blonde hair and gray eyes. She wasn't sure if John had feelings for Lexie, but Angeline knew that Lexie was head over heals for him. Maybe he was another reason for her recent desire to turn her life around.
They had been driving for a couple of hours and were still surrounded by trees. Angeline loved the view, especially with the sun setting, it was so peaceful. She almost forgot that they weren't on some romantic get away but that they were actually trying to escape from a psycho who wanted her dead. She was so lost in her thoughts that she didn't hear Alex speaking to her. It wasn't until he grabbed her hand that she was pulled out of her trance. She turned to look at her hand and then up at Alex, confusion written all over her face. Alex smiled and gave a little chuckle before speaking, "I asked, what are you thinking about? But you didn't hear me. Everything okay?"
Angeline smiled at him, nodded her head and said, "I was just admiring the view and wishing that we were going on a fun trip together versus running for our lives." Her smile faded a little and looked back out the window. She felt Alex let go of her hand and her heart sank a little, until she felt it under her chin. He turned her head so she was looking back at him, she saw a few different emotions in his eyes and she was worried what he would say. She took a deep breath and waited for his response. "I promise Angeline, when this is all over, and I know that you are safe from Amelia, I will take you on the most romantic vacation you have ever been on."
Angeline let out the breath she was still holding and felt the blush that came across her face. She smiled at Alex and was about to tell him that she couldn't wait, when John's voice broke through their little bubble. He was yelling about not being able to slow down and they all noticed the SUV in front of them was having trouble staying in control on the road. "Everyone hold on, this is going to be bad!!" John announced. The vehicles were coming to a bend in the road, the SUV suddenly crashed head on in to a tree. John was trying his best to slow the car down, but they were heading down hill and the brakes were no longer working. He was able to miss the SUV, but with the sharp turn he had to take to miss it caused the car to flip. The car rolled over a few times before it finally landed on the roof, leaving the four of them hanging upside down.
When she finally came to, Angeline started to look around, both guys were still out but she could hear Lexie moaning. "Lexie?" Angeline croaked out while trying to unbuckle her seat belt. She heard foot steps coming closer, "Lexie, it'll be okay. Someone's coming to help." As the steps came closer, she was able to finally unbuckle herself. She landed with a thud and her door was slowly opened. Angeline crawled to get out of the car, everything hurt and she was having trouble breathing. She used the car to help her stand, she couldn't put any weight on her left foot.
Before she could turn around, she heard the person speak and her whole body froze. "Hello Angeline." She didn't want to turn around, and she knew there was no way for her to out run them. She suddenly felt their presence right behind her, their lips right at her ear, "Did you miss me?" A hand grabbed her arm and turned her around, she lost her balance and had to use her injured foot to regain it, causing her to wince in pain. Which did not go unnoticed, "Looks like you won't be able to get to far from me, lucky me." Angeline started to hear the others move around in the car, "I guess we better get going." She noticed a car stopped up ahead and before she could call for help or get anyone's attention everything went black.
Alex was finally opening his eyes and began looking around. He noticed his sister and John doing the same. However when he turned to see where Angeline was seated before the crash, she was no longer there. He could hear a voice but couldn't make out what was being said. He braced himself before unbuckling, and he looked out Angeline's door and saw someone walking away. As he made his way out of the car he was finally able to see what was actually happening. They had Angeline draped over their shoulder, walking towards a car. They opened the back door and before they placed Angeline inside Alex yelled, "What are you doing?" The person slowly turned and Alex couldn't believe it. So much anger was radiating off of him. Before he could say anything more, the figure turned back around and swiftly tossed Angeline's lifeless body inside. After closing the door they looked back at Alex, a smirk placed on their smug face. They climbed in the drivers seat and took off.
Alex heard more sounds from behind him, he turned and saw John helping Lexie get out of the car. Other than a few cuts and bruises, they all seemed to be okay. Lexie looked at Alex, "What's wrong, where's Angeline?" Alex could hear the sirens, they were getting closer but Angeline was getting farther away. "She was taken," was all Alex said before dropping to his knees. He had promised her that he would keep her safe, and if that maniac has her, she was in even more trouble than he had thought.
