Chapter 13 - Julien

I rip all of my clothes off in a hurry and change into my wolf form. I mind link my beta,

' I found my mate, please lead the pack run. '

I started running in the direction she went, smelling the air to track her scent. '

Shes fast, ' I thought to myself. I'm running up and around the forest as her scent gets stronger, the lake is coming up and I just know that's where she's at. I stop at the tree line and I see her. She's still in her wolf form wading in the lake. The moon light is hitting the lake around her making her look even more angelic than she already is. I am completely mesmerized by her. My eyes go wide and my jaw slacks open. I shift back into my human form and slowly make my way out, not wanting to scare her.

She looks back at me quickly and the looks away almost like she doesn't want to acknowledge I exist. I think to myself, ' What if she really doesn't accept us. ' My wolf starts to whine. I have zero time for self doubt.

The sun starts to slowly rise as I slowly wade out into the water, never taking my eyes off of her. Getting up next to her I slightly rub my hand down her fur, feeling the soft texture under my finger tips. I can't hold back I need to feel her in my embrace. I take her big form and press her up against my body, hugging her like it might be the last time I get to do so.

She finally looks up at me as my eyes connect with hers. Her eyes close and her face distorts to pain, she starts to scream as her body changes back to human. I can feel her body change from fur to skin, feeling all of her body break and snap back into place. I hate the pain she is in I also understand there's nothing I can do to make it easier.

She looks up at me once again, now in her human form. She looks so exhausted but I've never seen someone so beautiful in my entire life. I could get lost in her blue eyes for the rest of my life. I bring her in closer to me and lean down to her ear and whisper,

"Mate."

I feel her body slump as she falls asleep in exhaustion. I reposition her as I make my way back to the pack, It's morning now and as the alpha I need to back to my pack. I look down at her sleeping face and worry, 'I've never seen her before, I know almost all of the people in the surrounding packs. She doesn't smell like a rogue, but the mate smells overpowers any other smell.'

As I'm making my way back to the pack house I mind link Henry, ' Can you get my mate and I some clothes, She looks like she could fit in my sister's clothes so go raid her closet.'

'No problem Alpha, see you in a bit.' Henry says in his chipper attitude.

As I'm getting closer to the pack house I see Henry running towards me. He and I both stop when he catches up. "Here you go alpha, I didn't know what you wanted to wear so I just grabbed something comfortable." Henry holds out a grocery bag of clothes and then awkwardly pulls back when he sees my hands are full. He then sits the bag in the ground and looks away bashful. Even though we have to get naked to shift never makes it less weird seeing each other naked.

"Thanks Henry, I'll see you in a bit to get an update on the run. Thank you for taking over." I say half way paying attention.

He waves his hands around, "Oh no its fine, but I'm going to head back. let me know if you need anything else." He then swiftly turns around and starts trotting back to the house. I look at the girl in my arms still sleeping peacefully and lay her down on the ground as gently as I could. I grab the clothes for myself and put them on.

Grabbing the clothes for her and I sat there for a minute. I look at her body and gulp,

' Okay you can do this. Just keep your eyes closed, then it won't be weird. Plus it would be even weirder for her to wake up naked.'

I had to give myself a little pep talk before I do this. I crouch down next to my mate and grab her arms. I close my eyes as I put her arms into the holes of the tank top and pull the tank down to her waist. Then I grab the shorts and carefully put each leg in as I drag the shorts up to her hips. I always imagined the first time dealing with clothes with my mate would be taking them off not putting them on.

I chuckled to myself and opened my eyes. I look down at her face as her even breathes keep going, she sleeps like a rock. I pick her back up bridal style and take her into the pack house.

It would probably be best if I take her to my sister's room and let her sleep. My sister is abroad right now for her studies so it's not like she'll be using it any time soon.
