Chapter 11- Julien

1153 Words
Today is march 26th and also the full moon. We've been working together with the witches trying to figure out where the demon Faye has been coming from with zero luck. Rogue wolves have been coming to our pack because of all the demon Faye sightings. It's not safe to be alone. I have figured out by talking to other clans and other mystical creatures that it seems they are only attacking the werewolves. Why it's only us, I have no idea. What's more frustrating is I told the council that I would take a chosen Luna tomorrow since tonight is the full moon. Something I never thought I would have to do in my life, the mate bond is sacred but I guess the moon goddess decided not to bless me with such things. Henry has been going to the witch coven for me as a liaison, even though I know he really wanted to so he could see the witch girl his heart has set on. I'm walking into the kitchen making sure that the omegas have all the ingredients for tonight. Since tonight is a full moon and we have new members our pack gets together for a late dinner and then we have a pack run at midnight. A burly man with short brown hair and a five o'clock shadow on his face walks up to me, he has the definition of a dad body and is one of my favorite people. "Hello Alpha what can I do for you?" He says in a somewhat chipper tone. I smile lightly at him, "Good afternoon chef how are the preparations going for tonight? Do you need anything or need anymore help?" I question him. He waves his hands in the air, "Oh, no no no alpha. We have everything we need in here and I have a full crew today. There shouldn't be a problem even with all the added mouths." Counting all of the rogues we've added since last full moon is 12. All together in the past three months has been 30. With all the new faces and finding them a placement hasn't been easy. The best part is some people have found their mates by all of the rogues coming here. Now we have about 80 pack members all together. Our pack is small compared to a lot of them but I enjoy it this way as it makes us more unified. "Thanks Chef for working as hard as you do for the entire pack, Your food is amazing so I don't know what we would do without you. I'm sure the pack wouldn't want me to cook for them." I chuckled slightly at the last part remembering the time he tried to teach me how to cook an egg. I almost caught the kitchen on fire because of that I have been banned from the kitchen since. Some pack members help set up the area outside of the pack house for everyone. Henry helps me direct everyone making the rest of the day go off without a problem. now it's time for the gathering to start for the pack. I start to welcome all of the pack members into the back yard. It's very rambunctious as kids running around and having fun, you can hear the laughter in the air giving me a sense of relief. Seeing my pack members being able to smile with everything going on makes me feel like I'm accomplishing what I should do. That is until I see Tim Weaver walking up to me with 2 glasses of champagne in his hands. Following right behind him is his daughter Kelly, Her blonde hair with too much volume to be pretty and her short pink dress that shows more skin than what would be appropriate. My mood instantly fell as I know why they're coming over here. "Julien! Our Alpha, thank you for hosting such a wonderful event!" Tim says as he's waving his arms around, making way too many people turn their heads towards us. "Hello councilor Tim, thank you for the praise, but I would never be able to do this without the rest of the pack." I see some eyes gleam in response to my words from other pack members listening. I can tell that it catches Tim off guard. Tim cleared his throat, "Alpha I know you two haven't spoken in a while but I wanted to reintroduce you to my daughter Kelly.." Tim pushes his daughter forward in front of him making the space between us a little to small. I reach my hand out to greet her, " Hello Kelly, it has been a while. I hope you enjoy the gathering though you might catch a chill." She took my hand and blushed in humiliation at my words, I look over at Tim and his face turns sour. This only makes me smile more, as I grab my hand back I take a step back creating more of a space between us. "Hmm. Well Kelly.." Tim hands her a glass of champagne.. "Alpha." He hands me the other glass of champagne. "I know this old man will only get in the way so I will take my leave I hope you will be able to grant my daughter company tonight." Tim smiles as he says the last part a little to loud for my liking. Tim walks away towards the other council members probably trying to brag over the fact that his daughter is standing next to me. The situation is not how I'd like for it to be and I look at my watch to see the time. It's 8:30 pm, and just on cue the chefs helper saves me from an awkward night. The chefs helper walks up to me to tell me that dinner is done and ready to be served. "Thank you." I say to the boy. I mind link all of the pack members, 'Instead of yelling at everyone I think this might be more appropriate, I want to thank everyone for come out tonight. We have a lot of new pack members we still have to welcome. As so we usually have a celebration dinner for new pack members but as recent events it was just easier to have a big gathering on the full moon. Dinner is now ready if everyone would like to make their way to the table. Thank you.' I don't even tell Kelly goodbye and just leave her standing alone as I walk to my seat at the head of the table. I pour my drink out onto the ground as one can never be too careful. Maybe she will take a hint but as soon as I look over at her I see a crushed glass in her hand and determination gleaming in her eyes. This is not going to be a fun night..
