Chapter 19 Henry

"Julien!" I shout in our mind link right before I see his body crushed into the ground. This fight is looking worse and worse. I'm getting anxious now that Julien the alpha can't fight anymore, now it's up to me.

The giant angry Faye looks up at me and I know I'm next. I continue the plan that we came up with just run and keep sniping at its legs. My wolf feels anxious and it's only making my nerves worse. I'm trying to not be distracted but it's all too much.

'What is your problem? ' I say to my wolf in between breath.

'Can you not feel it Henry the pack house is being attacked. They're all going to die. ' He says cowering in my head not wanting to come out. I growl fearsomely, that's what Julien was distracted by, his mate is in there.

'Okay, I need two teams to take over as I go to the pack house! I know you guys can do this! ' I wish I could feel their emotions like Julien but I don't have that option. I hurry up and grab the back of Julien's neck with my teeth, making sure to not hurt him. I put his body in the lining of the trees out of eyesight so Faye can't kill him while he's not aware.

I sprint towards the pack house. If we cannot protect the children and women then our pack is useless. I can't help but think of the worst when I finally get to the house and see our two guards mangled to where you can't even tell if they're human or wolf. I couldn't imagine the torture they went through trying to protect the others. The window is broken so I hop through and I look down and see the talisman on the ground that was over the window.

I dash over towards the basement to see Therese's dead body on the ground in front of the stairwell, it looks like she tried to protect the pups as long as she could. I run down the stairs and I see it, I can't believe it fits down here as the body is a huge ball and the tail is wrapped around the body of one of the young teens. Everyone is cowering in the corner scared out of their minds.

I mind link all of the adults down here, 'Take the children to the Alphas office! it's the safest spot in the house! '

I don't take any time and hurry over to attack the monster. I go for the in-between space of the tail and the body and bite down hard. I dig my claws into its thorny tail trying to rip it apart as I shake it back and forth.

'SSKKKRREEKKKK! '

The monster releases the teenager and her body falls to the floor. I jump in front of her to protect her body. I can hear her gasping for breath behind me. This just makes me even more enraged. A feral grow releases from my mouth. I lunge for the tail again as it tries to sideswipe me. This thing is a lot easier to kill than the monster we were fighting before. I probably could kill it in one swoop if I wasn't already exhausted, I jump up trying to grab onto the tail that is swinging towards me. After a few minutes the monster has ugly gashes all over its body from my attacks.

I can tell it's close to its last breath. The monster looks at me and then looks at the stairs . I know it's going to try to run. The monster quickly floats over to the stairway and that was my prime time to attack. I aim for in-between the body and the tail then rip off another chunk of flesh creating his tail to flop down onto the ground while the shrieks are pierces my eardrums.

The monster finally had it. Blood is dripping down from inside of the wound and now it's time for my final blow. I go for it, I take my paw and s***h across the eye making blood fall into its eye blinding it. I bite into the side of the monster ripping off flesh until it stops floating and lays onto the ground motionless. I can't help but pant and feel the exhaustion hit me. I look over at the female teen who is now in the corner cowering her body in the wall trying to not be seen. She's all bruised up and her cheeks flushed as her eyes are crying.

I grab a pillow with my mouth from the couch to cover myself with and I transform into my human self. I cover myself with the pillow and say to her in a soft voice. "I told everyone else to go upstairs to the alpha's office. I will lead you there but I'm going to change back into my wolf form first. I will then go back and continue fighting because the rest of the pack needs me."

she nods her head and I take that as a cue to turn back into my wolf form. Unfortunately she has to see how gruesome changing into your wolf is but that only prepares her for the future. We both walk up to the office and she opens the door everyone inside shrieks and screams as they probably think it's another monster. They realize it's just us and they all sigh in relaxation.

I mine link with one of the pregnant women in the group. "You all will be safe here as there is a protection spell on this room. No one with evil intentions can come into this room unless otherwise permitted."

I hurry up and leave the room and go back out the back door. All of a sudden I smell an overly sweet scent, I glimpse over and see Cassandra with Alyssa, standing over by the tree line like they were looking for something. Alyssa sees me and steps forward smiling, "Hey Henry, we're here to help!"
