chapter 9 Henry

Julien and I finally make it to the Coven House and I park across the street. When you look at the house it looks like a completely normal house in the outskirts of downtown. A little shabby old vintage house and two rocking chairs on a nice little porch.

Beep Beep.

My black Audi locks after Julien and I get out of the car.

I look over at Julien the Alpha and I know what we're about to do isn't going to be fun.

'Alpha doesn't need a vendetta against witches ' my wolf says to me.

'Shh, he can't help it remember, they killed his mom. ' I nag my wolf for even trying to get onto the alpha for his actions. He's been brave lately as he's getting more comfortable being the beta.

"Alpha are we doing good cop bad cop again?"I give him a cheeky grin as we walk up to the house.

"mhm." He goes, not really paying attention to me.

We both get up to the door and I hit the door bell waiting for the door to open. I check out our surroundings as we wait, trying to stay on guard. The big oak door is slowly opening showing a girl around the age of 18-19.

She almost makes me lose my breath with how beautiful she is. She has stunning brown hair that reaches her shoulders and her big doe brown eyes look up at me, drawing me in and not letting me go. Her eye brows crinkled showing a deep line in between her brows. Her eyes blink rapidly as she catches my eyes on hers. I see a blush creep up onto her face as her eyebrows raise in surprise. She smells amazing almost like cinnamon apples, almost like smelling your favorite candle when you get home after a long day.

I ignore this feeling as much as I can and look over at my alpha seeing if he was going to speak first. He doesn't look like he's going to speak so I cough lightly,

"Good afternoon I know we've come late into the night but we need to talk to your Regent." I say with a hint of urgency.

She blinks a couple of times without leaving my eyes, "Um.. yes." she shakes her head slightly and opens the door to let us in.

"You're lucky she was about to leave to go home, if you don't mind waiting a bit I will let her know you are here." She motions to the seats next to the door as we take a seat.

She walks past us and goes into the office and shuts the door behind her. I can faintly hear them talking behind the closed door and I relax my shoulders. I didn't realize I was so tense, that's so unlike me.

I look at the Alpha and he's looking at me with his eye brow raised, he knows something is up.

' What ?! '

I mind link in a tone that may be too brash for my liking.

He just chuckles and looks away, ' Nothing, nothing. You got this. It's not like I know anything about it anyway.'

'I don't know what you mean, and you admitting you don't know something? Am I going insane today or did I get blessed by the moon goddess? ' I look back at the door smirking, my wolf is starting to get riled up, still having adrenaline pumping from the fight this afternoon. I can feel it more and more everyday as my wolf wants to challenge him for alpha and I have no part in it. I steady and try to calm myself, frowning a little to much.

I can feel the mental link cut off between us, Julien giving me space to cool down. We've been friends since we were pups, I've always had his back and he's always had mine.

"Henry, I know things have been tense for a while now. Hopefully when I find my Luna and receive my full powers that will calm down. I know you mean nothing by it, it's in our blood. " He says quietly and is way more calm than I ever could be. That's why he's alpha and not me. I could never be able to handle all the emotions of the pack.

I look over at him, "I.."

I get cut off before I could finish as the door swings open.

The attractive brown hair girl comes back into the room and all of my attention goes to her. I could get lost in her eyes and I instantly shake my head. I don't understand this feeling, when I find my mate my wolf will call out to me but he's silent and it's making me angry.

She looks back and forth between us, "My Regent can speak to you now, if you'd like to follow me inside."
