I arrived a little early, and scanned the parking lot for anyone’s car that I recognized. I parked next to a Nissan I was pretty sure might be Ronnie’s, and waited until I felt like it was close enough to nine to go inside. I hadn’t seen anyone else yet, but hopefully Ronnie was there. I walked in and was greeted warmly by the hostess, “How many is it?” “I’m not actually sure,” I frowned. “I was invited, and I don’t know who all is coming. I was just checking to see if anyone I know is here yet.” “You can look around if you’d like, but we haven’t gotten any big parties yet,” she pretty much confirmed what I was thinking. If Ronnie was here, I’d be able to hear him. He had a deep voice to begin with, and when he got excited, his voice carried. I took a quick walk through just to be sure
