I turned off the lights and went to lie down next to my friend, who looked exhausted. My eyes were about to close when I saw my phone screen light up. I reached out to see what it was. My heart skipped a beat when I saw her name on the screen, so I hurried to open the message she had sent me.
"Are you asleep?"
My brain didn't want to cooperate because I didn't know how to answer him.
"I think you are. I just wanted to wish you goodnight."
I reacted immediately upon reading her message, so I just sent her an SMS that read:
"I was just about to go to sleep. Thanks, and I hope you have a good night too."
I attached a sticker of a cat sleeping, and he replied with another picture of a cat sending a heart.
