Chapter 4Macy was sitting in her Spartan-like apartment, a cup of coffee cooling beside her and a chubby tuxedo cat on her lap. She groaned in frustration as she read through her most recent email for the umpteenth time, but unfortunately the contents never changed.
Subject line: Party Reminder
Department heads,
It’s time to celebrate the end of spring semester. All members of faculty are invited to attend a party at seven P.M. in the auditorium to boost employee morale. If you received this email, you are a department head and strongly encouraged to attend. It is up to you to set an example to all members in your department. I look forward to seeing you all this evening.
