Chapter 13The first thing Macy heard when she awoke was the sound of retching. She slowly opened her eyes to take in the magnificent hotel room. Tendrils of sunlight were beginning to spread through the room, and she splayed out her limbs, spreading her arms across the buttery smooth sheets. They were still warm and smelled like Harper, even though she was alone. Harper must have stayed with her the entire night—but where was she now? “Harper,” Macy called out. Reluctantly, she pulled down the sheets and tried to shake the sleepiness from her body. She heard another sound emanating from one of the bathrooms.
