DYING TO SELF

God thought David how to die to self , in the bible it says David 1 Samuel 17-34-36 -34 But David said to Saul, “Your servant was tending his father’s sheep. When a lion or a bear came and took a lamb out of the flock, 35 I went out after it and attacked it and rescued the lamb from its mouth; and when it rose up against me, I seized it by its whiskers and struck and killed it. 36 Your servant has killed both the lion and the bear; God thought David the characteristic and the love towards one soul, we clearly see in this scripture that David with go after the lion and bear even if took one lamb , in natural we will think do you really want to get killed over one lamb!!! , but he thought David how to die to self , because David had to care for the flock than his own life ,it was all about God what and his instruction ,Matthew 18- 12 “What do you think? If a man has a hundred sheep, and one of them gets lost, will he not leave the ninety-nine on the mountain and go in search of the one that is lost?., we find this scripture the heart of the lord demonstrated in David’s training ground in the field as well ,  the bible doesn’t clearly state anywhere about God teaching David or any conversation with David , but David teaching where that of the Lord, he was a good shepherd he protected his flock , David faced rejection , a father who never considered David , people looked at him someone who is not capable to be a king because he didn’t look the title , as we see in Samuel when came to anoint a king for Israel he looked for a king who looked the title but God was looking for a vessel that was spiritually capable , we find this scripture ,Samuel 16-10: 6 When they arrived, Samuel saw Eliab and thought, “Surely the Lord’s anointed stands here before the Lord.”7 But the Lord said to Samuel, “Do not consider his appearance or his height, for I have rejected him. The Lord does not look at the things people look at. People look at the outward appearance, but the Lord looks at the heart.” and David being chosen , show us that our in capabilities in the natural becomes Gods capabilities in the spiritual , when we die to self then only Gods capabilities in us will be able to manifest .

In our own lives , we believe the enemy lies when he tells us we are useless , but God takes what looks useless and weak in the world , to manifest his glory , to make they weakness his strength , everything God has gifted a believer with , will only manifest and have revelation when one die to self , which means where our desires of the world and flesh fall away , and when we are filled with his anointing , as we see in David , after he was anointed he did extra ordinary miracles he was known secretively before he hit the limelight in Israel by defeating Goliath , when the servants of Saul described David 1 Samuel 16:18 One of the servants said to Saul, “One of Jesse’s sons from Bethlehem is a talented harp player. Not only that—he is a brave warrior, a man of war, and has good judgment. He is also a fine-looking young man, and the Lord is with him.”, David was known for his talent has well has discernment , your  recognition only comes once you complete your on field training , as we see if David never killed the lion and bear he wouldn’t be known for a Man of war , if David never learnt the harp he wouldn’t be known has the talented harp player , if David never experienced a situation that needed discernment he wouldn’t be known for his good judgement , so if you don’t go through your refining process how will you be known for your extra ordinary overcoming glorious testimony !!!! die to self and embrace Gods instruction and direction for your life , his delay does not mean he has forgotten you his busy equipping you for what he purposed you to do , 1 Peter 5:10 And after you have suffered a little while, the God of all grace, who has called you to his eternal glory in Christ, will himself restore, confirm, strengthen, and establish you. When the enemy steals he will restore ,when the enemy brings doubt he will confirm ,when the enemy weakens he will strengthen , when the enemy destroys he will establish that which was destroyed , Hebrews 10:35 Therefore do not throw away your confidence, which has a great reward.

When the lord delivered me from nicotine and mended my brokenness, it didn’t end there , that was a start of my training and shaping , family and friends no longer kept relationship with me , I was mocked for my belief in Christ , there was at that time I was in a relationship that was abusive mentally and physically , what to do when you just finish school the very thing you wanted to study now you couldn’t , financially as well I didn’t come from a family who had all the wealth , but this thought me discernment and dependency on God alone , I left my relationships and chose that nothing and no one will come between my God and I , many off us are stuck in the place where the enemy has your emotion hooked on relationships you shouldn’t be in, could be wrong association or a partner , we say God comes first but does he really or does your feeling and emotions come first , we don’t realise this but many of us are giving God the back seat and your emotions and feelings are driving , the enemy uses this has his greatest advantage if he hook your emotions and feelings he can hook your life into the direction he wants ,Galatians 5: 16 But I say, walk habitually in the [Holy] Spirit [seek Him and be responsive to His guidance], and then you will certainly not carry out the desire of the [a]sinful nature [which responds impulsively without regard for God and His precepts]. 17 For the sinful nature has its desire which is opposed to the Spirit, and the [desire of the] Spirit opposes the [b]sinful nature; for these [two, the sinful nature and the Spirit] are in direct opposition to each other [continually in conflict], so that you [as believers] do not [always] do whatever [good things] you want to do. We clearly see emotions do not work with the spirit , the holy spirit works opposite of every fleshly desire and emotion , we need to die to our emotions, the mind ,body , spirit , connects , if the mind is controlled or body or soul by the enemy any one of them , then the whole life is controlled and directed by the enemy , Galatians 2:19-21 For through the Law I died to the Law and its demands on me [because salvation is provided through the death and resurrection of Christ], so that I might [from now on] live to God. 20 I have been crucified with Christ [that is, in Him I have shared His crucifixion]; it is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me. The life I now live in the body I live by faith [by adhering to, relying on, and completely trusting] in the Son of God, who loved me and gave Himself up for me. 21 I do not ignore or nullify the [gracious gift of the] grace of God [His amazing, unmerited favour], for if righteousness comes through [observing] the Law, then Christ died needlessly. [His suffering and death would have had no purpose whatsoever.]” as we find David had every reason in his situation to become emotional and fleshly but he refused to be in , he sang psalms when he was happy, sad , discouraged , in the same way whenever the enemy tries to sow a seed of emotion or feeling , vent it out has a song unto the lord , and he will bring assurance and guidance , dying to self-desires evaluates you closer to the lord Jesus , David learnt dependency ,confidence and reliance when he was in the field that equipped him for his God ordained purpose.

Many ask what is my purpose , as we see in David 1 Samuel 16: 12 So Jesse sent word and brought him in. Now he had a ruddy complexion, with beautiful eyes and a handsome appearance. The Lord said [to Samuel], “Arise, anoint him; for this is he.” 13 Then Samuel took the horn of oil and anointed David in the presence of his brothers; and the Spirit of the Lord came mightily upon David from that day forward. David was anointed and the spirit of the lord came upon me , many believers are blogged by this word called purpose , David didn’t know his purpose or when was God going to take him into his purpose but he just waited on the lord , David’s anointing equipped him for the purpose God had for him , and God opened the door to step into his purpose step by step . Proverbs 3:5 Trust in the LORD with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; 6 in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight. Your assignment is just to do what he tells you too in his word , opening of doors , creating the path is all planned and done by God , basically God does the hard work if we look at it in the natural perspective , so just take a deep breath and say God I lay it all to you I’m just going to seek you , follow your word and love you . Matthew 6:10 your kingdom come, your will be done, on earth as it is in heaven. I found myself always in this messed up mind state where I don’t know what to do , and be asking God what do you want me to do , when this happens all I feel is unhappy and fear and anxiety , but when he handles it and I’m all eyes on God there’s peace , that’s how we need to learn don’t get stuck here , David’s Strategy to this was psalms , songs from the hurt , sadness, joy , anger .
