6 Rogders’ daughter

Although the gossip about Matthew and Olivia is still being talked about, there has been no outside interaction between the two. Apart from when they are working, even then they rarely see each other. Gradually everyone begins to talk less and less about them.

As usual, Olivia walked to her desk and was about to sit down when she noticed that today seemed different. Looking around the office she was surprised to find another person sitting at Matthew’s desk.

For well-known reasons, Matthew was asked not to work at his original desk. They chose the only place that was not conspicuous and had an independent area, in the corner.

Although biased, it was done without protest by the company executives. How can they put someone in Matthew’s seat?

Moreover, his table is not decorated very exquisitely, with the desk now white in color, and pink decorations. Which didn't match with any other desks around it.

Olivia looked around and saw a lot of employees who were also there early, were talking about this desk. Just then a high pitched voice came out of the office, and then she appeared.

An exquisite young woman, with a beautiful face, amazing temperament, wearing a light colored blouse, black a-line skirt, a pair of black stiletto heels. She had straight black hair that flowed down her back like a waterfall. Dark red lipstick. She looked very delicate and elegant. In contrast her sharp, phoenix eyes exuded arrogance and nobility.

“Let me introduce myself. My name is Brooke Rodgers. I hope we can all get along great and work well with each other in the future.”

Brook seemed unaccustomed to this kind of scene, and her tone was a little blunt. Then without waiting for anyone to greet her back, she walked towards Matthews' new dest.

Olivia looked at the woman with surprise, and watched her sit besides Matthew. Somehow there was a moment of unhappiness in her heart. BUt she was able to conceal her emotions very well. She then turned back around at her desk.

More and more employees come in, and more and more eyes are looking at Brooke. However, she doesn't seem to mind the attention. She seems very used to it. She plays on her cell phone with her legs crossed, as if she doesn't have a care in the world.

“Who is this woman, acting like she runs this place?” Several employees couldn't help but talk about it. So they got together and discussed it.

A woman with glasses deliberately lowered her voice and said “I heard that it is a relative of an executive or something. Anyway, she is a big deal, and if the company is willing to give her an office, she has to be someone with an impressive background.

“She is sitting next to Matthew!! Who agreed to this?? Olivia is most likely going to be jealous.” Olivia and Matthews rumors were being brought up again and some employees laughed. It was like they were watching a good show on TV.

Being mentioned caught her off guard. Olivia buried her head in embarrassment, hoping to minimize her existence. She didn't think anything was going on between Brooke and Matthew. But if Brooke really has eyes for Matthew, the rumors would definitely be worse. It would make her a target of public criticism.

The long-awaited rumor stopping hero finally arrived late. Matthew had his briefcase as usual. He frowned when he saw there was someone else at his “old” desk. Seeing him standing there, the other employees were watching everything. Got excited thinking that there was going to be some good drama about to happen between Matthew and Brooke, like they were watching their favorite TV show.

The result they wanted was not the one they got and they felt let down. Matthew only stood there for a moment, then just walked towards his new desk.

Hearing footsteps, Brooke who had just looked calm, instantly got really excited. She got up quickly, and her delicate lips turned up into a gentle and brilliant smile. She looked up at Matthew and greeted him without letting him know who she was.

“Matthew!! Long time no see!”

Olivia wasn't expecting their greeting to be as if she has known him for a long time. Matthew seemed embarrassed for a moment. But he soon nodded faintly at her, and then he walked past her to get to his seat. Being ignored, employees around them thought Brooke would be upset. No one expected her to just stand there and blink, looking a bit lost. She then turned around and sat down beside him again, unaffected by his attitude, as if she were used to it.

“Matthew, how was studying abroad? I really wanted to study abroad with you, but Grandpa wouldn't allow me to. I was going to steal my passport, so I could get a plane ticket. Fortunately, you came back!”

Brooke smiled brightly, the office was now silent because everyone was busy doing their own work. Some gearless employees were giving Brooke some very dirty looks, but Brooke is unbothered. She is still staring at Matthew and hasn't blinked. Matthew didn't give her the time of day. He also didn't even care why she was there. He didn't say a word, only nodded.

Everyone at the company seemed to be dwelling on Matthew and Brooke's situation. Their misfortune was bringing smiles to their faces.

What is Brook now the new Hannah?

“Matthew, why don't we have lunch together? I know a very good BBQ restaurant nearby. It just opened. I will call and reserve a table for us now.” Brooke leaned against Matthew softly. Since she was a child, she would chase him. Later on in his life when he went abroad, she couldn't stop thinking about him and it drove her crazy.

“No. I would rather go to the staff's lunchroom as usual.” Matthew moved his body away from hers, causing her to stumble a little.

“Go eat by yourself.”

As soon as this remark came out of his mouth, Brooke heard snickering around her and felt a little embarrassed. She seemed to be use to being treated coldly by Matthew, so she quickly readjusted herself and said:

“Okay, the lunchroom is also good. Anyway, the food here is probably just as good.”

At noon, Brooke bounced around Matthew, happy to eat lunch with him. Although he was clearly not excited, but he didn't push her away. They sat together and ate. Olivia was sitting alone in the corner, looking miserable. She was instinctively eating the food in her mouth, and her eyes were locked in the direction of Matthew and Brooke intentionally was smiling brightly at Matthew.

Her heart suddenly started to hurt, and Olivia didn't want to look at them any more. She started feeling lost. What the hell is wrong with her, and who Matthew is with doesn't have anything to do with her! Why does she feel so uncomfortable when she sees them so close?

Brook didn't want to keep a low profile at the company at all. She turned a deaf ear to all the comments of the employees and threw herself at Matthew. So everyone could see her and hopefully want to check out her details. Only a few days later, her identity was revealed. She was actually the daughter of the CEO of Rodgers' Enterprise. She was the apple of this company's eyes. Although Olivia didn’t know why she wanted to work here at IBM, and she didn't know why Brooke was so interested in Matthew.

The recent speculation about Matthews and Olivia's relationship has started to decrease. Olivia still goes to work every single day despite anything going on at the company. It is a good thing that Logan didn't retaliate against her. Olivia is immersed in doing her own thing, suddenly from the top of her head she hears a voice.

“Is that Brooke?” She thought. Olivia looked up and saw that it was Brooke. Standing over her at her desk, staring at her with a very mean face. Once Olivia made eye contact Brooke let out a sneer remark.

“Who the hell do you think you are? What gives you the right to make Matthew like you? Look in the mirror Olivia, I am the better choice for him!”

Hannah followed Brooke and added “Even if you don't look in the mirror, you don't know who Brooke is! You are no one to her! And you still want to be with Matthew? You are trying too hard, he is way out of your league.”

Olivia’s mind always goes a mile a minute when dealing with emotional things, and she assumed Hannah had told Brooke about her “affair” with Matthew. Now that Hannah is here looking for trouble, Olivia could only say something to them.

“I didn't try to steal Matthew! Brooke you are being lied to. This is a huge misunderstanding.”

“Misunderstanding? You can't sit here and deny all of that. You know very well all that “messy gossip” about you and Matthew is true!” Brooke turned red in the face with anger and then shouted:

“How shameless!!”

“YOU! I’ve had enough! Brooke you are a new employee and I don't want to fight with you. You should not be talking badly about anyone here!” Olivia stared at Brooke angrily. “How could a big CEO’s daughter be here bullying others?” Olivia questioned.

“Do you know who I am?! How dare you speak to me like that, you…..”

Brooke was about to grab Olivia by her arm when suddenly a male voice came from behind them.

“STOP!”

“Matthew! You really have no clue how shameless this woman is, she…” She also wanted to tell him how awful she believed Olivia was.

Matthew glanced at Olivia, then in a cold voice said: “I said stop it now! And go back to your own space Brooke.”

“You….humph!” Brooke tossed her hair and left, but not without giving Olivia a hard look first. Matthew spoke to Brooke very meanly, and she couldn't take it anymore.
