CHAPTER 1— PRINCESS ZINERIAH

“What are you planning again Riah?” Ash asked me

“Well, whatever it is, you’re not gonna agree, I swear.” I said and just by her looks I knew already that she has my plans

“Are you still really considering traveling to the mortal world? ZINERIAH!!” she yelled at me, so I gave her a playful glare

“I’m sorry, but princess, you can’t just leave like that! The queen’s gonna k*ll us specially me when she found out!” my personal fairy maid and best friend told me.

“Ash, you know how much I hate living this life, this life full of expectations because I’m a princess” I said with a smocking voice on the expectation parts “So please, you have two options, first, come with me or second stay here if you like” I added trying to persuade her.

“Prince---” I cut her off before she could even speak “Ash, I’m asking for you as your best friend, not as the princess. Please I want to leave my own, without magic, not being a fairy, just a normal life.” I said begging

“Riah! You said you’re talking and asking my help as your friend; do you want your friend to suffer here if ever you leave?” she asked me, guilt tripping me

“Ash, stop guilt tripping me, please. If you wouldn’t ag---” she cut me off, “ZINERIAH! Listen to me, okay? I’m not guilt tripping you for fairy gods mother sake! You’re my best friend, the princess fairy, next queen of this whole land, and so, whatever you’re planning and proposing to me right now and I couldn’t and wouldn’t let it happen!” she explained to me.

“Someone’s at the door, fix yourself quickly because it’s either the queen or the king.” she told me. “I’ll open it” she added.

“Good morning your Majesty” I heard her greetings

“Where is the princess? Can you call her?” gosh my mom didn’t even say please

“She’s in her room still resting, is it important or urgent?” I heard her ask

“In all the fairies I’ve met, you are the most stup*d, do you think I would travel from the castle to this dump if it isn’t urgent?” I heard my mom scolding her

“Y-yeah, I-I’m sorry your Majesty, I’ll call her now, just sit and relax for a while” I heard her, still talking politely at my mom.

I heard footsteps coming into my bedroom, it stopped, and I suddenly heard a knock.

“Princess Zineriah, can I come in?” she asked, wow it’s like she’s never been here

“Princess Zineriah, the king and queen are waiting for you outside” she politely told me

“Can you tell them that I’ll just meet them at the castle? Tell them I’m not ready yet, please?” I said, she nod and smiled at me before she went out to the living room.

“ Your Majesty, the Princess is quite sick, and I think she couldn’t come with you at the castle today. But she said that she might follow later in the afternoon” I heard her say

“Princess Zineriah, come out here this instance” I heard my mother—the Queen, casting a magic to get me out of my room, little did she know this room is filled with all protection against magic that I can turn on or off, whenever I want.

“Zineriah! Come out here and stop all your foolish jokes to stop my magic, you’re a Princess and this is not a proper behavior of a Princess” she’s mad now, like literal.

After getting tired of playing games with the Queen, I finally use my magic to change in a “elegant” dress and “fancy” shoes and finally put some tiara and gloves to add look more “elegant” and look “presentable”. Ughh! Gosh I can’t believe it; this is the only fairy world that has this high standard. I heard that there is an important meeting in the castle, an “important” meeting, maybe that’s why the Queen is picking me up early in the morning ‘cause I’m the Princess, the “next” Queen, ughh such a big responsibility. Well, I’m not saying that I don’t like to be the next Queen of all fairies, but the only thing I don’t want is I have to marry a Prince from other fairy lands, just to find a perfect King. By the way, to all of you that’s asking, why I ain’t living in the castle with my feelings, well, I’m actually living and built my own house, our house actually, Ash and mine, I don’t like living under the castle because I need to follow all, like “all” the rules and commands, and I can’t take how they treat their maids.

‘Good morning your highness” I greeted my mother, full of respect.

“Stop with your game Zireniah! Why are you late? Is that a Princess’s proper behavior?” my mother is really mad.

“I’m sorry your highness, forgive my behavior. What Ash said is true, I’m really sick” I said, sarcastic at first.

“Zireniah! You know we have an important meeting regarding the wolves and fairies interactions!” she said trying to calm herself

“Then if it’s important, what’s the Queen doing here and not in the castle to participate in the meeting” I said sarcastically

“After the meeting you are staying and not leave the castle, Ash iha, just follow us to the castle, okay? We will go ahead since like what you heard we still have a meeting” the Queen said.

“Yes your Majesty I’ll just-----" I cut her off

“No! I will not leave unless Ash is with us” I said, like a kid.

“Your maid is not to be seen with us, Riah.” My mother is like threatening me.

“You are like that with your maids, but Ash is not just my maid! She is my friend! So, either you let her come or I’m not leaving” I said knowing we don’t have much time, my mom would definitely agree.

“Okay fine! But we only have a few minutes left, how are you gonna change your clothes and take a shower at that short time, you know your kind are weak, unlike us HAHAHA” my mother said, mocking and belittling my friend

After my mother finished speaking, I raised my hand and waved my wand “Presentable clothes, to my friend I seek, for her to be pretty clean and neat. For her to be as pretty as a butterfly” As I finished speaking, I saw Ash glow and like my enchantment she’s as pretty as a butterfly. I was admiring her beauty, and she was about to hug and thank me when my mother interrupted “A maid should never lay her hand to the royals” she said offending my friend. “Let’s go, stay behind us.” She added with a command for Ash. “No, we’re not flying to go thru the castle, you know I hate for other fairies to know and figure out who I am” I said, with explanation, “So, what are we gonna do to arrive at the castle in time. “ I just stared at her blankly and then smirk, again I raised my hand and waved my wand “Three person late, in an important state. Bring us to the palace, for the problem to be resolve, finish and for fairies to have peace” as I finished speaking, I told them to close their eyes and with just a swish of my wand we arrived at the castle. Well not literally in the castle, In the garden of the castle. We walked for a while and everyone we saw admired me, yes me, seeing me and my beauty is like once in a blue moon because I don’t like going out. Someone interrupted our walk by stopping my mother.

“Good morning your Majesty, everyone is already in the room” the guy said, I don’t know who he is, because I don’t go here much often

“Can you get me some tea Darren?” wow? Without any “Thank You?” wow just wow

“Of course, may I know the reason for your delay your Majesty?” Darren asked

“It’s because of the “Princess” she needs too much time, attention and validation.” My mother said looking at me.

“Everyone is there meaning it already started?” I ask looking cold and blank at Darren, a reason for him to be scared at me, sorry Darren HAHAHA

“Ahh, good morning, Princess Riah, they’re already starting without you.” He said not looking at my eyes, he has no manners literally.

“Look at me in the eyes when I’m taking to you, don’t you know it’s disrespectful when you’re talking to someone and not looking at them in their eyes.” I said with a serious sarcastic tone.

“A Princess who don’t know how to respect doesn’t deserve respect at all” my mom intervened

“No wonder your peoples are like this; they’ve inherited them from you!” I said calming myself.

Ash held my hand “Calm down, we’re in the castle, don’t make a scene here” she whispered in my ears. I just gave her an assuring smile and a small nod to assure her that everything was fine.
