Jeannette's POV
My head ached terribly and it felt like I was spinning. When I realized that the pain was not going away any sooner,I managed to blink my eyes open.
I jerked up in bed in shock when I saw the sheets of the bed wasn't mine and I can't even remember buying a black decorated bedsheet. Although it was a fine and expensive material, but that could never be me.
For Christ sakes! Who buys a black coloured bedsheets? I'm a positive minded person and bright colors are my favorite. Besides,it commands warmth in the environment.
Wait! Hold up! Where am I? What am I even doing in a an extremely exotic black-themed room?
I held my head in my hands,in a bid to steady my vision but it didn't help me. I turned to grab some pillows to rest my head a bit,but unfortunately, some other person's head was on it.
Infact, the person was snoring lightly, cushioned by several pillows with a mass of black hair partially covering the face.
Slowly,I pushed the hair off the face to get a clearer look and behold! It was Austin!
Then it all came back to me. I was married to the man beside me. How could I ever forget? But...but,how did I get in his bed?
I remember...I...was...we were eating...and ...and...arrgh! I couldn't even think about it. My head was on fire.
My body felt numb. I looked at the time. It was 8:30 in the morning and I was given a two weeks leave for my honeymoon. Or should I say,I signed for two weeks because I was the head of the administrative department.
With a groan,I rolled out, staggering as I walked to the kitchen. Austin's mansion was like Disneyland. So big and beautiful but I hated the bedroom theme with passion.
I didn't even bother thinking about the room because I was definitely going to have it changed to something brighter and warmer and that's how it'll be for the next two years.
He was going to deal with it and I didn't even care.
Turning on the coffee machine,I poured some coffee seeds in and I steamed it quickly. I poured some of the liquid into a large mug and added some sugar and milk.
My mouth tasted the liquid and I felt relaxed. I found a seat at the velvety couch and I rested my body on it. I turned on the TV and kept the volume at minimal. This girl didn't need any sound, just wanted to enjoy the silence.
You know that saying that, "What you wish for and finally get, most times do not last",was definitely true, because my enjoyed solitude was short-lived.
"Hello wifey!", Austin said almost in a scream as he walked in. I cringed at his loud voice and he didn't even notice my displeasure.
Or maybe he did and chose not to give a damn about it. How typical of him!
"What's for breakfast, honey?",he asked.
"Honey? You do know we're alone, right? And there's really no need for all this drama",I replied slowly.
"I hear you! But Jean... we've got to get used to it. No apologies!",this arrogant man said to my face.
Austin walked to me,took the cup of coffee from my hand and had a sip of the liquid. My eyes bulged out of the sockets at his action but hey! I'm married to a man who pays no attention to facial expressions.
"This tastes so good,Jean",he commented.
Oh great! If he's not calling me love names,it's Jean, the pet name,he gave me. Honestly,I can't lie. I actually like the way it rolls out of his tongue.
My eyes followed his figure as he walked to the kitchen for some coffee too. I'm in love with the kitchen and cooking but not this morning. I didn't feel like doing anything at all.
Austin wore a grey short and his upper body was bare, showing his taut n*****s. My tongue ran along my mouth when I took in the full view of his body.
Some strands of his hair dangled to his face even after he tied it in a small ponytail. My new husband was handsome and he looked like one of the characters of Marvel superheroes.
He must have felt me watching cause he turned abruptly to me and I froze. My gaze dropped and I took my eyes away but not before I saw him smiling coyly.
I hated myself at that point. He caught me staring.
"Jean? I'm guessing you won't make breakfast and I'm a terrible cook. So what do you say,we go out to grab some good food at a restaurant",I heard Austin say.
"Okay? Sounds good",I replied, avoiding his gaze.
He helped me with the cup and I slid out of the couch to wear something suitable for breakfast. That was thoughtful of him to suggest that.
My stomach was raging violently and I didn't feel good to cook so this was a fantastic idea.
It was just breakfast and I chose something simple but classy. I mean, I was Jeannette Jones...tsk...damn! Jeannette Marl now!
I sighed inwardly at myself and I didn't even know Austin was watching me, perplexed.
"Ma'am? Is everything okay?",he asked sarcastically.
"Yes. Just my thoughts",I replied with a fake smile.
"Good. Cause I'll appreciate it if you had that fake smile off your face, you look like a stuffed doll", Austin said, veering out of the mansion in speed.
Stuffed doll? Wonderful! Another pet name from my husband.
I eyed him with my arm folded across my chest and like always,my husband paid no attention. I wonder what would make him pay attention to my displeasures.
Minutes later,he parked at the private garage of Princeton restaurant. To my surprise, Austin got down and rushed to my side to help me out.
I thought he was being nice and trying to make up for last night but when I saw a group of excited fans taking hidden pictures of us,I knew. He was acting.
"To think you were actually being nice",I joked.
"You underestimate me too much,my wife",he replied with a light chuckle.
"So tell me what to do,my lord? Is this the part I cling to your arms like a lost puppy or some foolish teenager?"I added with a giggle.
"That's right dear. You do that and I do this...", Austin said just before he gave me a light kiss on my forehead.
My heart literally stopped. Did he just...?
I looked up at him but he was busy waving to a little kid who smiled at him, then he led me through the automatic doors of the five star restaurant.
The restaurant was cozy and warm and it smelt of fresh air. I was a regular here due to several meetings and lunches I had with potential clients severally.
A waiter rushed to us and showed us a lobby which led to a private breakfast room. That blew my mind entirely. Even though I was regular here,I didn't visit this part of the restaurant.
It had a porch facing the beach side and the tulips in large Asian vases were fresh. The chairs screamed class and my aching head found peace.
Definitely! I was going to have a satisfying
breakfast this morning. I smiled at him and ordered.
