In Love With A Rogue

Chapter Four

Alpha James looked at his brother. He looked back at me..

“Lily are you sure you…my dad chipped in

“Dad please”..I interrupted. Alpha James placed his hand on mine.

“I Alpha James of crescent pack, I hereby accept the rejection of Lily Cruz”, he stated. We felt the bond loosened.

“Alpha James, I don't want to live my sister's life for you or anyone.. I don't want to add to the pains my sister's demise has caused you. I will take my leave. I hurried through the staircase and banged the door behind me.

I laid on my bed. My wolf was still. I read some books before going to bed. I heard my mother's voice from the living room.

“Lily! lily! Come down lady!” She shouted.

I checked the time it was already past eight. I guessed she came back from the bakery so late.

I opened the door and approached the living room

“Mom, we can cut the cake tomorrow, I am so exhausted”, I replied and yawned.

“ How could you? what joy do you derive in hurting the Alpha?” my mom ranted.

“What do you mean,mom? “I asked. “What have I done again?”

“Your stubbornness caused his fiancee’s life, then what ? The moon goddess gave him a second chance from this family and you ruined it?” She bursted out. My dad was trying to restrain her.

“Mom, he is in love with my sister! There is nothing I do that's gonna please him. I will be living my sister's life for him” I cried out.

“Honey, you shouldn't have rejected him, I….. if there was a way to amend this, he looked at me.

“Dad? There is literally no way am going back!” I looked at my dad then back to my mom.

“I have always lived hidden and you; my parents have done absolutely nothing about it. Stephanie had always been the guardian, sister and friend.”

“She was everything to me. I lived under her shadow! She protected me until now, she has left me to the world.

You both had always cherished and adored Stephanie!!!”

“It had always been about her and now you want me to live her life for you? I am Lily; mom!! I am Lily Cruz! I would leave and be who I am, happy with a mate, not one that sees me as someone else.”

“I need a mate that would love and appreciate me!!” I stormed upstairs. my wolf gave a smile. My parents stare in amazement. I have never said this many words before.

I was finally coming out of my shell. I might be an Omega but I won't let anyone treat me like I didn't matter to them.

I took some sleeping pills and slept off.

My alarm rang very early. It was almost five am. I tiptoed out. It was quiet.

I guess they were asleep. I quickly showered, took some clothes and left. The town was still calm except for some early roamers.

I head for the outskirt of the town. I needed to leave and meet someone that adores me for myself.

It was almost dawn. I took a quick glance back at the pack and turned.

I continued my journey. The taxi came to a stop. I saw the entrance of another pack.

“I can't drive in. That's a rogue's pack”, he said as I alighted from the taxi.

I quickly walked in. Everyone minded their business. I wouldn't want them to notice me. I noticed an old man sitting in an open space.

“Welcome my child” he smiled at me. I looked around to realize he was referring to me.

“Sir, I am in need of a place to stay for a while. I really need your help” I pleaded.

“ You have a great future ahead my child,” he continued smiling as he signaled for me to follow him. I noticed the pendant around his neck. He is a diviner.

We approached a small but well arranged apartment. I quickly dropped my bag and headed to take a shower.

“I would make tea for you”, he said.

“ You don't have to worry sir,I will be fine, I told him calmly.

“ Go and shower so you can rest, okay? And you can call me Klaus”, he jokingly pushed me towards the bathroom.

I felt relieved as every drop of water touched my skin. I couldn't believe that I would ever leave my parents.

This is a new phase of my life and I have to live for myself.

Few days have passed. Mr Klaus has been like a father to me. He implied I learnt karate to improve my strength.

I have always been a weakling and to survive on my own I have to be able to defend myself. It wasn't easy from the start but he has taught me a lot.

I go into the forest to hunt sometimes. I decided to get a job. I applied for the job of a waitress in a reserved club and I got the job.

My beauty seemed to have blossomed. I look more like Stephanie. I would continue my training with Mr.klaus whenever I was off duty.

I arrived late. I began serving the customers.

“Go and serve the rogue king,” Joanna said. Joanna is one of the workers in the club. But we were closer than others. “But, be careful! He humiliates everyone.

Just don't listen to him, okay? She let go of my hand. I smiled and walked towards the king.

“Your drink sir”, I said, handing the drink over to him. He ignored me and pointed at one of the guys at the bar section.

“Hey, come here with a bottle of wine”, he instructed. I guess I was at the wrong table. Joanna must have mistook the customer that needed the tequila shot I carried.

I tried to leave as he pulled me back, spilling the content of the glass all over me. Everyone turned towards us. I noticed he was trying to humiliate and create a scene.

One of the bar guys ran towards us. I grinned.

“How come you are so slow?” the rogue king pushed him on the chest.

“Am so sorry sir” he apologized. The rogue king ordered me to kneel, and place the glass on my head while the bar attendant poured the content of the bottle into it.

“I can't do that sir, " I responded.

“ What did you say?” He asked.

“I can't make my hair a tray for your wine” I answered.

He looked amazed. Joanna had said no one dared to challenge him. The hall was quiet. I stared at him. The lady close to him burst into laughter. One of his men ran towards me.

“You will do as the king says she-wolf” he commanded.

“ Make me!” He pushed me. I staggered. My wolf was pissed. He tried to attack with his claws. I held him in an upright motion and broke two of his claws.

I fell to the floor groaning in pain. The other tried to attack and the king stopped them. I walked away. Everyone was still and surprised at the event that just played.

I could feel the king’s gaze fixed behind me as I walked away.

I knew I was in trouble with my boss but I felt so good. This was the first time I would be defending myself.

“Lily, you have to apologize to your king!”he ordered.
