Chapter 5 (The Plan)

*Sofie*

-30 minutes before midnight-

Stellie and I had a couple of shots of vodka already. We are just waiting for midnight and then we will have fun on the dance floor. We are just warming up here.

We were just talking about our plan after the anniversary when we will go to South Korea again for a vacation. We are so invested in Kpop and Kdramas that going there is a necessity. If my parents let me, I would want to be a Kpop Star (in my dreams) but, I need to work hard to be an heir to our architectural company. It’s the most well known and prestigious company in the industry.

1 new message received/ - I glanced at my phone and saw it was from Oliver

“Who’s that?” Stellie asked curiously.

“Ohh, it’s just Oliver”, I replied and opened the message.

Stellie’s eyes depicted sadness for a bit and went to the glass wall overlooking the crowd.

“Sofie, I’m just here in the lounge area of the bar.

Just let me know if there’s something that I can help you with.”

“Sure Oliver, I’ll surely let you know.

Are you ready for later?”

I was glancing at Stellie and back to my phone to see her reaction to me texting Oliver.

She flinches when I receive another message.

“I think so, I’m feeling nervous. So much.

Do you think she’ll accept me, right?”

“I’m positive. So you had better do it right.

You only have one chance for this fragile, stubborn princess.”

“I’ll try my best Sofie. Thank you so much for helping me.”

-Oliver

"No worries, you always have my back. As long as you do not do anything stupid to hurt her. If that happens, I'll come find you, even if it's in hell."

"That would be unnecessary. You have my word and I live up to the principle of making her happy and will always support her."

-Oliver

"You have sworn that. I'll call you later if it's time.

Stay close."

"Surely, I'm just outside."

That was the last message and I placed my phone on top of the table and stared at Stellie's irritated face.

I giggled as I saw her face half-annoyed. She heard and she instantly glared at me.

“What are you giggling about?”, she asked with the normal tone she has.

“Nothing.’ I shrugged “I just find you amusing with your eyes glaring at me.” I said to her.

She seemed shocked,but tries not to show it. 'This girl is about to tell a lie.'

“I did? Why would I do that?” She asked with a bit of confusion in her voice and she stared at the crowd again.

“I don’t know, but you did. Maybe because I’ve told you that Oliver texted me?” The words slipped out my mouth.

‘Ooppss, my bad.’

Half of her face was visible on my end and it shows that she was shocked.

“What about with Oliver?” She asked plainly .” Trinnie, are you saying I’m jealous because he texted you?” She added

‘There’s no turning back now. This girl should spill the tea’

“Yeah, I think so” I replied directly with determination in my voice.

She turned to face me with one eyebrow raised.

‘Feisty’

“Wh-what made you think Trinnie that I would be jealous?” She asked, but there’s now a bit of panic? On her voice

'She might have been stunned that I knew her secret.'

“I don’t have to provide you with an answer, Stellie, you know the answer very well.” I replied and just smiled at her.

She blushed and pursed her lips for a smile, but it directly went away. She gulped the remaining vodka in her glass and stared at me.

'Now she knows what I mean.'

She came up to me with her eyes glistening. She sat beside me. Still blushing

“How did you know Trin?” she whispered ‘she’s still blushing’. I can’t tell if it’s because of the vodka or if it’s about the truth that I know her secret.

I looked at her with disbelief. “For the love of the goddess Stellie, we are bestfriends. I rolled my eyes. Additionally, we’ve been together for most of our lives, so I can easily tell if you like something or someone. When Oliver came to us 3 years ago, you changed. You stop blabbing every time he is around because you don’t want to give any bad impression of yourself on him.

Your eyes are always shining whenever Oliver is near. Your timid behavior around him is the great indication that you have a desire for the man. Lastly, you always turn down anyone who will try to court you.” I said to her and seeing her reaction was enough to tell that she was mind-blowned.

She just nodded silently. “Am I stupid Trinnie? That I liked someone below our class?” she asked.

I clearly know what she’s talking about. She’s worried because of her family.

I looked at her eyes with care and hugged her.

“Ohh! Stellie, love cannot be defined by status or class or your family. If you love him, fight for him. Everyone has their own sacrifices. I’m sure Ma and Pa will understand. Just let others talk. They will not be the ones who will suffer sharing the life with the wrong man. It’s at least worth a try rather than not trying at all.”

She was shunned.

She was about to say something when both of our phones rang.

"We'll definitely talk about this later, Stellie." I said to her and reached for my phone.

She just nodded and went to the other side of the couch and took her phone out from her purse.

"GRAND REDEMPTION"

Time: 00:00 am

May 1

That is what is written on the screen of my phone.

I immediately got up and went to Stellie to hug her.

"Happy anniversary Bestie"- Sofie

"Happy anniversary too, Bestie."- Stella

We kissed each other's cheeks and shouted in unison.

"IT'S PARTY TIME"

We both squealed in excitement with matching throwing of our arms in the air and did our little dance.

"Wait." I spoiled our little fun. "I need to go to the comfort room first."

She nodded and said, "Sure, I'll wait for you here."

"I'll be quick" I said, and walked out of the room.

I immediately dialed Oliver's number to let him know that now's the time.

-Riiiing--Riiiiing

He directly answered.

"Oliver, I left her inside the room. You go ahead and talk to her. Just let her know that I'll be downstairs by the bar area. Goodluck!"

-Sofie

-on the other line-

"Thank you Sofie. I'll go in there now."

-Oliver

"Okay, bye."

And I ended the call. I went to the comfort room and did my thing.
