The Broken Badass part-9

Recap:

 "I'm fine" and I blacked out...

      I woke up in my bed with a banging headache. Suddenly everything came back the memory of my mom, almost drowning,... Jack. I looked to the side and saw Jack in one of my chairs next to my bed sleeping. My throat really hurt so I got up slowly trying not to wake up Jack and went downstairs and got a cup of water I went back up to my room and saw Jack waking up and I froze.

"Avery!" He yelled and ran over to me and gave me a bone-crushing hug. I hugged him back with just as much force but he just got tighter.

"Jack...can't...breathe," I told him in between breaths. He immediately let go.

"Sorry Sorry Sorry! Do you need anything?! Are you hurt?! Oh god, I'm in i***t!" He kept ranting and I let out I chuckle.

"I'm fine," I told him.

"Ok now... WHY THE FÜCK WERE YOU DROWNING IN THE TUB!" He screamed...awww he cares but damn I thought he forgot about that.

"Ummm well you see I kinda just started thinking and didn't realize I was sinking,  and then I couldn't breathe obviously, and then I started blacking out, and then you pulled me out of the water and I passed out... that's all" I told him. And was once again pulled into another bone-crushing hug 

" I know that's not the full story and I won't push you to tell me but don't scare me like that." He whispered into my ear.

"Ok" he let go and I missed his warmth but let him go. 

"Let's get you something to eat you must be hungry."

"Ok," I mumbled.

We walked downstairs and saw everyone eating breakfast.

"Hi guys," I said to them.

"Hey!" They all said simultaneously. I went to the pantry and grabbed the cereal and then went to the fridge to grab some milk I made it and turned around and saw everyone looking at me. 

"What?" I asked them.

"Nothing," they all said okay this is weird.

"Okay weirdos imma go get dressed for school"

"Ok," they all said.

I walked up to my room and took and shower. I blow-dried my hair and let it in its natural waves.

I got dressed

I did my normal makeup of eyeliner, mascara, and matte dark maroon lipstick. I looked and the mirror and was happy and walked downstairs 

"Happy birthday!" I heard I looked at the calendar on January 9th. (My birthday)

"I guess it is my birthday," I told them shrugging. I hate my birthday it is horrible not that I told anyone what happened let's just say there was a lot of pain.

"How could you forget your own birthday," Rex asked. I shrugged again a frown on my face. 

"Ok anyways happy birthday," Taylor says pulling me into a one-handed hug. "Here."

She gave me a cupcake with a candle in it.

"Happy 18!" everyone yelled and I blew out the candle playing along.

"Thanks, guys anyway let's go," I told them all and they all nodded slowly I got in my car and was about to leave until my passenger door was opened to the one and only Jack.

"Why didn't you want anyone to mention your birthday." I looked at him confused how'd he know that. He must have seen my face and added.

"Right when it was mentioned you started frowning." 

"Let's just say it brings back bad memories that I would rather forget" I looked at him to see if he'd buy it and he slowly nodded it was the truth... well part of it. I then started the car and started driving to school. I got out and heard wolf whistles from guys and glares from girls probably because of Jack with me. I flipped them off and continued walking into the corridor. 

"Ughhh I should have stopped to get coffee" I yawned.

"Yes, you probably should have" he smirked while I just glared at him. 

"Whatever let's just go to math" he nodded. 

We got in about 5-10 minutes late because Jack was taking his precious time claiming that it's good for his heart to walk at a slow pace, but I really don't care.

"Why are you late?" My snobby teacher Ms.Papp said. Oh god, she looks like a cat and smells like one too. (based off one of my real teachers)

"Because I was," I told her and sat down. 

Everything she taught I already knew the same with every other class and foreign language so I didn't need to take that. I took out some earbuds and started doodling. I felt someone slam the hands on my desk.

"Why are you drawing while I'm teaching?" She asked pissed off.

"One Why are you teaching while I'm drawing and two calm your t**s you don't need to go all King Kong on me alright" I replied smartly. I heard laughs from the class.

"To the principles office. Now!" She screamed. I got up and walked out of my seat.

"Audios puta," I told her giving her the bird. Bye b***h.

I walked through the halls and went outside and sat on a bench I hear someone sit next to me and saw Austin come out. 

"Hey," he said 

"Hi" I replied.

"Soo you like Taylor?" I asked him and he blushed.

"Soo you like Jack?" He replied back making my just smile I don't blush the easily.

We looked at each other and laughed.

"You smoke?" He asked pulling out a cigarette. I scrubbed my nose in disgust.

"No all it does is kill you I have witnessed what it does and what it can do since I was little. But you know who does smoke?" I asked him.

"Who?" He asked

"Taylor," I told him.

"Really why?" He wondered.

"I don't really know she was a tiny dealer before the gang and I think it just got to her and she never stopped you know," I told him.

"Yah I guess and what do you mean  you've seen what it does?" He asked.

"I just have a history with people who smoke that's all," I told him.

"Same with Jack his dad smoked and it killed him so he never smoked at all since he was really close to him." 

"Yah well anyways we should probably get going good luck with Taylor," i told him

"Good luck with Jack." And we walked away.

**Time skip to the end of the day." 

We finished gym class and I and Jack figured out what to do for our dance. I walked to my car with Jack by my side. And we hopped in.

"Let's go ohh have you seen the guys today?" I asked him

"No not sense 3rd period," he told me.

"Ok, you wanna start practicing our dance tomorrow?" I asked.

"Sure," he said with a smile.

We finished the rest of the drive-in silence and we pulled up to the house and saw no one else's car there. Where are they I thought?  I walked inside—

"SURPRISE!"I heard a lot of people screaming followed by bursting music. I walked to my friends with a fake smile on my face.

"Thanks, guys!" I yelled.

"No problem boo you don't turn 18 every day," Alex said, "Enjoy the party" she screamed and they all disappeared. I walked up the stairs to go to the roof and sat down on the edge looked down below and jumped I felt a presence sit down beside me and I think you already know who it is.

"Hey Kitten" he called out.

"Hey, Batman" I called back.

"Your Birthday is this bad huh?"He asked.

"Bad enough that I kinda want to jump off this roof" that seemed to get his attention and I felt his arms snake around my waist.

"Don't ever say that." He said sternly and I just shrugged I looked at his eyes and saw him leaning in. I closed my eyes and leaned in too until our lips were connected.
