The class ended after a long time and the class broke into different peers as some try to get the notes they couldn’t finish during class, some hurrying out of the class for their second lecture of the day, while some stayed back to chatter

Nikki packed her book and inform Lora of her next class which is in thirty minutes while she tries to help Lora who had no idea what she’s having next.

“Didn’t you get the timetable at the orientation?” she asked

After searching for sometimes, they found the timetable and download it from the school website

“You’ll have to just go with normal classes since the time to make selections is due” she explained and hand over the phone to her to check

“Isn’t this a second year course?” Lora asked seeing the code

“Yes, you have a certain units to complete, I can only add that” she explained

“Okay…the class is…”

“Now” she almost yell and Nikki nodded

In a haste, she pick up her handbag and rush to find the supposed hall for the lecture, surprisingly when she got in, the professor isn’t in yet giving her enough time to get into class and find a seat at the far end.

Just like the first class, she catches guys’ attention and had many staring at her as she pushes her long hair back a bit to avoid it blocking her sight

“Who is she?” a girl behind her ask loudly with an ounce of bitterness

Lora want to turn to her and answer her question but one of the girls beat her to it and cause a fuss

“She’s Fred Waverley’s girlfriend” she announced through the class

Hearing who she is, the student begin a loud and noisy chatter among themselves as every one of them seems to know who Fred is

Lora wanted to correct them but they all seems uninterested in whatever she might have to say as they give their opinion on whether she’s fit to be Fred’s girlfriend or not, the girls seems to be interested in her now as she could feel their stares all over her body.

Feeling tense about the new turn of situation, Lora tried to get out of class but the professor came in and she had no choice but stay till the end

The lecture unlike the first one seems to be long and boring that she dozes off during class and keep hitting her head to force her concentration, after the long while attendance was taken of the students and it was only then she noticed a familiar person in the class as the name was being called

“Justin West?”

“Yes”

Hearing the familiar voice, Lora looked at the seat direction and saw Justin sitting at the center space of the class with lot of girls surrounding him, the moment she gaze at him, his ice blue eyes met with her deep black one and she quickly look away feeling uncomfortable.

All the time she dated Fred she has never really taken any interest in him and so doesn’t know anything much about his life or school, of course he’s bestfriends with Fred but she never expected he’s in the same school as him

“if he is here the whole time, then he must have notice me, why didn’t he say hi to me?” she wondered to herself giving him a quick look again and look away before he caught her

Lora looked around again and sighted the girl who announced to everyone about her relationship with Fred clinching unto Justin like a wolf wanting to devour his prey

“Did he tell her?” she wondered to herself feeling a bit upset

“How do everyone even know who Fred is?”

She got so engross in her thoughts that she didn’t realize her name being called, seeing that she didn’t respond Justin look towards her and try to get her attention back to the class, Lora sees this and turn away her face again but just in time she heard her name being called the second time

“Lora Carver?” the professor called again

“Here!” she almost yelled

“You are a Carver, you really held your family repute” the Professor said and gave a smile

The attendance was taken and the assignment from last class was asked to be submitted in the next two days

“Wait sir”

“Got any problem Lora”

“I join the class today and I don’t know about any assignment” she said

The professor nodded his head thoughtfully and then type on his laptop reflecting it on the projector, it’s the assignment being displayed

“You can write it down now and submit with the rest” he said and walk out before Lora could protest more.

“What assignment, I can’t even understand the class”

“Lora, if you want I could help you with the assignment” a guy with dyed hair said smiling at her

Few guys also joined in and soon crowd around her, asking to help her with the assignment but she was starting to get uncomfortable and couldn’t break out

Suddenly in the chaos, a strong palm grab her tightly and pull her out, not stopping there, it took her outside the class, after making sure none of the guys are after them, he let go of her hand

“Thank you Justin” she said and adjust her ruffled clothes

Seeing her enter the lecture room, Justin couldn’t help but fix his gaze on her like the other guys, he waited for her to glance at his direction but she didn’t, thinking she might want to pretend they do know each other he looks away and concentrate on his phone until one of the girls beside him ask if he knows her

“Yeah, she’s Fred’s girlfriend” he answered casually but regrets the words the moment they came out of his mouth.

He might have been feeling upset and angry about what happened days ago but he know he shouldn’t have bust it out like that.

When the girl announced it to the whole class, he wanted to ignore it but when he glance at her, there was a sad and tensed body expression that he almost scold Clara who announced it.

“Are you okay?” he asked gently

Lora nodded her head twice to answer him and then the two fall into silent, there seems to be some kind of awkwardness between them that she can’t explain, not sure what to say she keeps staring at the floor and her bag, touching and caressing it slowly

“I will just go now, see you again” he said and turn to walk away

“Wait Justin!” Lora requested

“Yeah?”

Lora twisted her tongue as she felt hesitant and couldn’t bring herself to say the words which feels so heavy to say

“Emm…” she cleared her throat noisily as if to tell him to be patient and she was just finding the words

“What is it you wanna tell me Lora?”

“Hmm…last time…thanks” she stuttered to the confused Justin

“I was a big fool to think things could stay the same”

“You’re finally back to your senses”

Although Lora felt offended with his choice of word, she nodded slightly to answer him and after seconds of staring she turn to leave and hurry to her car.

Igniting the engine, she drove away as she steals glances at him to see if he was staring at her or not and each time she looks at him, his eyes were on her

“that was tense” she murmured to herself driving out of the school.

The scorching sun hits Alex as she try to get her things out of the cab, the driver seems impatient and try to drag the boxes out but she stop him before she could and ask for time to take them out.

Thankfully she’s at the entrance of the hostel building and it wont be that difficult to take the four lugages to her room. She got the the matron’s office first to clear herself

“why are you late? Others arrive four days before” she said checking for a room to place her

“I had to transfer here from my former school” she explained

“transferred? Is that allowed in colleges?”

Alexandra smile and collect the key handled to her, dragging her boxes one after the one she finally manage to take them to the second floor where her room is located, she made to unlock the door but it seems it was already unlocked so she just push it slightly in

“hello?” she called

“who are you?” Lara asked drying her wet hair

“I’m your new roommate, my name is Alexandra…”

“did you miss your way? No one shares room with me” she said displeased

“well, I was assigned here, lodge 1”

“mrs. Patrick must have lost her senses for a while, maybe that’s why she made a mistake to assign you to my room” she resorted

“I guess you hate me already, even without knowing me so well” Alex said with a nervous chuckle

“but what to do? We are stuck with each other” she said, her smile gone and replace with a sassy face.

Lara threw the towel right in her face and push her forcefully to the door, she wanted to get the door but before she could, Alexandra get hold of the towel in her face and toss it to the floor

“get out!”

“you’re really looking for trouble”

“what? How dare you…”

Alex grab swiftly Lara’s hand that was about to send a hit on her face and toss it harshly away, looking flustered at her opponent, Lara decided to back out a little

“this is ridiculous, I wont have someone like you share room with me” she said and went out to see the matron.

Ignoring her unpleasant and hostile welcome, Alex pick her bags and decide to start unpacking, she has missed a lot of things as a freshman and she need to adjust fast so she can get started before it’s too late.

Lara came back in with frustrated countenance as it seems her mission has failed, she look hesitatantly at her but turned away back to her bed, to put on her cosmetics and head to class

“do you know Justin West?”

“so you are one of his stalkers” Lara jeered

“not at all, he’s a friend”

“how are you friends with him? You look like mushed potato”

“because I’m friends with Fred Waverley, since junior high”

“that cant be true, I went to the same school and I’ve never seen you before”

“I’m Alexandra Mayer”

“wait! Lora Carver’s friend?”

“well, not really” she said and swallowed the last part

“my enemy’s friend is my roommate, how sweet” she said with sarcasm

“I have a feeling we would get along so well” Alexandra said with a smile and Lara gave her the surly look.
