The boys were up at sunrise, badgering Sarah about breakfast. She hadn’t spoken to her husband or Mrs Cullen about the arrangements for meals assuming she would be expected to provide for her own family. She looked around the cottage, noticing the details she missed yesterday. The two rooms were well proportioned, the bedroom had two double beds, a dresser with a pitcher and bowl and chest of drawers, and a square, knitted woollen rug. ‘Some of the boys clothes will have to stay in the trunk.’ The kitchen had a large fireplace that dominated most of the wall it sat against.
