Toothless arrived in Hobart on 23 July 1822 on the Prince of Orange convict ship. His relish in the position of overseer of convicts grew with each voyage. Off-loading the human cargo into the responsibility of the Colony gave Toothless the opportunity to wander around Hobart Town and marvel at the growth and changes in the town since he first arrived ten years earlier, in 1812.
