Peter had spent the past few days in a constant cycle of fear and euphoria. Since the Germans hadn’t suspected any kind of organized resistance, they’d been utterly unprepared, and the Home Army captured significant areas of the city. By the end of day two, gas, electricity and water were securely in Polish hands.
