Fifty-Five
Kennedy stepped into the warm sunshine. Pushing her sunglasses higher, she sighed happily. They had been together for a little better than six years and married for just under five. The years of their relationship were marred with various trials, but she knew that was life. She’d known since she was nothing more than an innocent little girl that nothing in life was fair. Believing in love wasn’t something she ever did either, but she loved him and their son with all she was. She watched him as he chased their almost five-year-old around the fenced-in yard. Their laughter echoed around her as she smiled at them simply enjoying life. Tucking a lock of hair behind her ear, she looked up at Thomas. "He seems happy to finally be done with school.
