Chapter 7 — Learning Again. That night they stayed in the waiting room long after visiting hours ended. Neither of them wanted to leave. Aisha watched video after video. In one clip she was teasing Noah for crying during a movie. In another she had fallen asleep on his shoulder. In another she was talking directly to the camera. “Future me,” she said in the recording, smiling warmly, “if you’re watching this, it probably means I forgot again.” Aisha felt tears sliding down her face as she listened to her own voice. “Don’t panic,” the video version of her said. “You always panic.” Noah laughed softly beside her. The way he watched her like someone who had learned every version of her heart. “You already know what I’m going to say sometimes,” she realized. He nodded. “You’ve told me most stories several times.” “That’s embarrassing.” “I never minded.” ⸻ Later, when the hospital corridors grew quiet, Aisha asked something that had been haunting her. “What happens when I forget everything?” Noah’s expression softened. “Then I introduce myself again.” (To be Continued)
