The wolf inside (chapter five)

1004 Words
The next morning I woke to the feel of Josie cuddled into my back, arm wrapped around my waist and smiled. I rolled over and kissed her lips softly, not wanting to wake her. I slipped out of bed and didn’t bother with breakfast as I headed straight outside to guard the place. My wolf wouldn’t rest until the threat to his mate had been eliminated. Heading out I smelt them before I saw them. Six men jumped out of their vehicle and headed straight towards me. Since losing their pack and alpha, they were starting to lose their minds to the wolf and it was making them stupid if they thought they even stood a chance against me. I strode over to them and didn’t slow down as I slammed my fist into the face of the one who was trying to lead them. I ducked the punch that had been coming towards the side of my head from the guy on the left, and swept the back of his legs making him collapse to the floor beside me. I didn’t hesitate, I grabbed his head and twisted hard before rolling to avoid another two bringing their feet down to stomp on my head. I remembered the descriptions Josie had given and recognised the guy I’d punched as they own who had ripped her clothes off. Before he could get up I rage overtook me. I grabbed the knife tucked into he’s belt and stabbed him in the d**k, the others faltered at the sound of their lead pack member screaming in pure agony, by then the rest of the pack had come rushing out of the house to see what the Noise was. One lift of my hand and the pack understood I wanted, needed, to do this on my own. One of the four left standing suddenly grabbed me around the neck from behind, I’d only taken less then a second to look up at my pack but that’s all it had taken. He dragged me back a couple of inches but he didn’t have the strength nor the height that I had, so he didn’t get very far. I hated being touched by f**k faces and so my rage intensified. I reached back, grabbing the back of his neck and threw him over the front of me so hard I managed to break his neck in the process, oh well. I spun around and slit another throat and then plunging the knife deep into the heart of the d**k who had managed to punch me in the ribs. The wolf that was to the left flew at me and knocked us both to the ground, he managed two punches to my face and then looked up behind me and ran in that direction. I jumped up and saw Josie join the others and that was who he was after. I assumed that because they had gone slightly mad without an alpha, they’d obsessed over the last thing they remembered their alpha being involved with and that was Josie. I didn’t even get so far as two steps when she ran at him, rage filling her face as she recognised him. She shocked everyone including me when she shifted into wolf form, nothing but a black blur of fur as she launched herself onto him and began tearing chunks of his face. He screamed and tried to fight but it was useless, she was no longer as weak as when I’d first met her, the vampire Markus we’d worked with once had helped train her to fight and it seemed to give her way more confidence then I’d thought possible, and made her almost as high as me in the pack hierarchy, of course she would always be an omega at heart and it helped being mated to an alpha wolf, but I felt proud as she tore his throat out before finally climbing off of him and coming over to meet me. I stroked her head and whispered, “I’m so sorry sweetheart, I didn’t want you to know about this.” She shook her head, licked my hand and I followed her back into the house. Once back to human form and dressed she turned to me and smiled, “don’t worry Jason, it’s not your fault they came here, besides, at least I can relax now, knowing that there are no more of those arseholes waiting for me out there. That was all of them, and you can stop looking at me like I’m going to have a breakdown.” Grabbing the back of her neck I pulled her in against my chest and held her tight. Just then the kids came running in. “Daddy, daddy, what was going on outside? Uncle Blaze wouldn’t let us see!” That was Krystal, my beautiful four year old. With big brown eyes like her mum and caramel skin with long black hair, she was stunning to look at but an absolute tomboy, I had no doubt she’d be kicking arse later in life. Her brother Adam was six and came creeping in quietly behind her. Where she was tough and confident like me, Adam was quiet and shy like Josie. Again, he was stunning to look at with ice blue eyes like mine had I been born with less wolf in me, Caramel skin tone and black hair making them stand out even more. I picked Krystal and Adam up in each arm and held them close, “nothing you’d be interested in, just boring grown up stuff. Who wants ice cream with sweets on top?” They both squealed in delight and I managed to give them each a kiss on the cheek before they wriggled from my arms and raced to the kitchen. I laughed along with Josie and we had no choice but to follow before they’d help themselves. It was times like this I loved my life, and I wouldn’t change it for the world.
