CHAPTER TWENTY EIGHT Before Bill had driven very far along the carefully manicured paths, he began to feel a guilty pang. He had to remind himself that he had a job to do, and that he was dealing with a murder case. I’m enjoying this too much, he realized. Indeed, he felt like a college kid driving a new sports car. The only thing that bugged him was Jared’s nonstop chatter.
