Chapter 20 The Gatekeeper

2148 Words
THE TRIPLE GODDESS Our children joined with Her children, our Sister of the Heavens, Brigit. Some were both, just as we were often both. They came to give of themselves, just as we gave of ourselves. The scales of Balance had been severely tipped. Evil had divided and destroyed. They were remembering. They could feel it as they joined hands and gave as they were transported to face the Gatekeeper. Cerberus growled. “Finally. What took you so long? I will wake the Master.” “There’s no need for that,” Phoenix stood brave, his golden aura visible, but not threatening. “We come only for Balance.” Genevieve stood tall and brave with her husband. “Balance. Such a fragile thing. Your precious Moon Goddess had no regard for Balance when she chose to Create.” “Ah, but you gained so much.” Cerberus smiled, if it was possible for the Hound of Hell to do so. “The Creator gains more.” “We do not bow to Him or his Son.” “Yet you choose Balance. Love. Peace.” Khane smirked. “We also destroy our enemies to keep those things and there, you win.” “Let’s play a little game, shall we,” Cerberus tempted. “No,” our children replied in unison, flashing their powers for the hound to see. “We’re not here to play games with you,” Chance spoke with the confidence of the gods he was descended from. “We just came to give you this.” In a burst of fiery light, our children revealed the four Protectors from God, Himself, the Creator of the Heavens, who held Rubic captive. The four tossed the prisoner at Cerberus’s feet while our children set Rubic aflame. Their auras joined in a swirling vortex of Love and Light sending Cerberus and his new soul spinning back into the flames of Hell. “Nooooooooooo!” He screamed at Brigit’s keening and the forces that sent him spinning back. “Run!” Phoenix yelled, as the ground beneath their feet began to tremble. He melded his power with the others, a great cloud of the crystallized Love and Happiness forming a thick curtain that would serve as a temporary shield. The curtain would hold long enough for them to escape and collect enough for next time. {~>*•**•**•*Almost there. Almost there. The outflow of the tornado started to lift the old Dodge up off the ground. Parker’s vehicle, too. ::Hold on, Phoebe and use all you’ve got to fight it!:: I felt a bump in the stream of power as my grandfather's medallion around Chance’s neck began to glow. The energy flowed from Chance to me to Parker and Kaya. We took control and floated through the air and into the portal. Chance let out a Whoop! as similar cheers echoed through the Link—the last thing I remember before waking up in Canegon.
