Chapter 13 Ollie woke to the sound of his bedroom door opening. Immediately, he was frightened, disoriented. He thought that there was no more terrifying sound than being alone in bed and suddenly realizing there was someone in the room with you. Ollie liked it dark when he slept and had his blinds pulled tight against the feeble light of the moon and stars. He raised his head from his pillow, heart thudding, and peered intently into the pitch. He could make out a figure standing poised near the door, but it was nothing more than a dark shape. He managed to find his voice. “Who’s there?” he croaked out into the darkness, pulling the sheet up to his neck for the scant protection it would give. “It’s just me, Ollie.” The voice was familiar.
