Chapter 19 Ollie hadn’t slept. He knew that sometimes when we were gripped in the clutches of that restless demon known as insomnia, we did, in fact, actually sleep for stretches; it just didn’t seem like it. But that wasn’t the case this time. Ollie knew he had lain awake the entire night. They had a grandfather’s clock downstairs in the entryway that chimed the hour, and Ollie had heard each and every one. It had taken forever to get through each hour and hear the next series of chimes. He had lain awake in a state of restless waiting. Waiting for the creak of the door opening downstairs.
