Chapter 6: Rescue operation and worry

Wright's POV

I went to Mr bob office to tell him about the progress of the investigation.

"Have your seat." He said smoothly.

I sat down immediately to start the conversation.

" The two soldiers that were captured are alive sir." I said.

" Wow, that's great. So we should be ready to move on now." He looked at me.

" I looked closer and found out they have a tight securities now. Not like the last one." I continued.

" That's truly their head quarter." He lifted his chin.

" Yes sir. We should take a lot of soldiers with us." I said.

" Yes we should. We need to go to Zuda as soon as possible because the bandits are going to threaten then to reveal our secrets." He said roughly.

" Okay sir." I replied.

" We should prepare for the operation the next two days. You should inform the soldiers about this." Mr bob mentioned.

" Okay sir." I responded.

" You can go. I will arrange some reports." He stated.

"Okay sir." I said.

All of a sudden, he put his chin up then looked straight into my eyes.

" Are you alright now?" He asked.

Why is he asking me that all of a sudden. It is no big deal if a soldier got wounded.

" Yes, I'm fine sir." I replied.

I didn't know why he asked me that and that made me curious.

" Okay, then.... You can go." He said.

" Okay sir." I stood up.

I saluted and left his office. I could feel his gaze on me as I step out but I overlooked it because I thought that doesn't matter.

I called all the soldiers together to pass the announcement.

" Good evening, high boss." They chorused.

" Good evening, soldiers. I have an announcement to pass to all of you." I said, my voice bold.

" Okay sir." They chorused.

" Two of our soldiers are captured by the zuda bandits and we must bring them back home." I expressed.

" yes sir. They chorused in agreement.

" The operation will be carried out the day after tomorrow." I mentioned.

" Okay sir. They chorused.

" That is my announcement for now. Remember you are a soldier because you are the strongest among all." I said soberly.

" Yes sir." They chorused.

I looked at each faces. It was full of great commitment and that makes me proud of my country.

" You can go and start your training." I said.

" Thank you high boss." They all scattered and walked to the field.

I was left alone with lazzie. He must want to talk about him or even me. This is another of pushing words.

"I will need to call my girlfriend and family." Lazzie said.

I knew that would be his first words. That was to tell me I need to call someone too.

" Plastering me again?" I looked at him friendly.

" You should also tell miss Claire. She must be your first love." He whispered.

" Whatever." I beam.

I didn't know when a smile escaped my lip so lazzie notice.

Oh! You are smiling. Did you really like her?" Lazzie smiled.

I came to my consciousness then coughed to lazzie"s question.

" Have you tell her about your feelings, what happened?" He leaned closer to me.

" What did you mean by that, are you serious right now?" I looked at him in shock.

" Yes, you should tell her. She must like you also because you are so handsome." He continued.

I smiled for a moment.

" That is a compliment, I know I'm handsome. But let's forget about this for now.

" Then I will have you go on another date." He uttered.

" Really, you are going to do this?" I was surprised.

How am I going to ask beauty out. She can't even recognize me. She won't agree to date me.

" This is all crazy. She won't agree." I expressed.

" You need to put a try. You can't jump to conclusion." He replied.

I knew she liked Ryan. She can't even recognize me.

" Let's put a try and I won't set you on a date!" He leaned over.

" Okay!! I will do it but give me some time." I uttered.

I've grown as a man every ladies wants so Claire should also fall for me.

I didn't know when I started liking Claire but it was like a biological attraction.

" I will give you time because when you say you will do it, you don't go back." He smiled.

I gave him a long smile.

" Let's go to the training room".

" Okay." He replied.

We walked to the training room to prepare for the coming operation.

Claire's POV

The next morning, I went to the military to see wright. I heard they would be going to Zuda forest again.

I saw him from afar then walked closer to him.

He was surprised to see me. He must be thinking about why I came.

" Doctor Claire, why are you here?" He asked.

" Good morning, high boss." I greeted.

" Good morning, why are you here this morning. Did you have anything to tell me?" He looked into my eyes.

I looked around the environment but the soldiers watching while passing made my heart race.

" Can we talk in a quiet place?" I requested.

" Okay." He said.

We walked down the field to a shaded place. I don't know why I feel safe around him and why I kept wanting to see his face.

" So, what did you want to tell me?" He asked.

" Thank you for keeping my secret and also look over my mistake." I expressed.

In his eyes, I could feel he was surprised I said that. He must have thought I came to military to tell him that.

" You didn't make a mistake, doctor Claire." He said.

He looked into my eyes and for a moment I fell for his gaze. My heart beat faster and it looks like it was going to jump out of my chest.

" Is that what you wanted to tell me?" He asked.

" Huh....." I pursed.

My cheeks flushed red. I really fell for him, I realized I liked him in a moment.

" Are you okay, you Cheeks are red." He touched my cheek.

His hands really sent a shiver down my spine. I touched my cheeks and after a while the red marks fade out.

" I heard you are going to Zuda forest again." I said.

" How did you know?" He was surprised.

" I'm sorry. I overheard it when you were passing the announcement." I uttered.

" Oh! You came to the military yesterday?" He asked.

" Yes, I just happen to pass by." I said.

" Okay, then. We are going to Zuda forest the next day." He expressed.

" The last operation you went for, you rescued two soldiers and received the gun into your body." I stated.

" Yes, I should protect them." He said.

His voice was sharp and bold.

" Are you doing this again?" I questioned.

"Maybe, I can't bear to see the soldiers in pain when I'm right there." He uttered.

I was really worried about him, what if something bad happens.

" What if you don't make it? I said slowly.

His eyes fixed on me immediately.

" Are you worried about me?" He asked.

" Yes, I'm really worried." I uttered.

I didn't know when that slipped my lip. I was really worry so I was Frank about my feelings.

" I've always protect the soldiers and always come back alive." He said.

But.....

" I know you are worried but nothing is going to happen to me." He stated.

I was rest assured by his words. I believed him immediately. I must be really crazy about him to have believed him immediately.

" Okay, I believe." I said.

" You should take care of yourself instead." He uttered.

My heart skipped again.

" That should be your first priority." He grinned.

" Oh, thanks." I smiled back.

" Okay, then." He looked around.

I stood up from where I was seated.

" I should go now, high boss." I whispered.

" Oh, thanks for visiting." He expressed.

I walked back to the hospital while wright went to the training room to inspect the soldiers.
