Chapter 14: The director's crime

Wright's POV
I knew Claire was going to come to me. My heart was waiting for her so badly as always. I can't lose her again.
Lazzie already knew about it. He was really surprised and excited.
I couldn't sleep that night. I was really happy that I finally get to be with her again.
Now it's time to know the person who keeps harassing her. Claire wouldn't tell me, I should find out what happened.
She can't keep going through those pains. She have me now.
Three days passed, I and Claire have been seeing each other and that makes me more happy.
Seeing her face really makes my heart fluttered.
I was on my way to give a report to the director of the hospital.
I was really hoping to see Claire. I missed her everytime.
I was shocked when I saw this.
Claire came out of the director's office with her hair tangled. Her hand that was bandaged was bringing out blood.
What could have happened in there?
When she closed the door, the book she held fell on the floor then she gasped in fear.
She bent down and blood ran through her nose.
I couldn't stand it. I told the soldiers behind me to take a break. I will call them later.
They left immediately. I rushed to Claire. She was stared to see me.
" High..boss. why are you..here?" She stammered.
" What is going on, what happened to you?" I questioned in haste.
She looked at me with a calm face.
" High boss. I can explain." She whispered.
I held her hand then took her to a secluded office.
" What are you doing?" She gasped.
" What happened to you. You are bleeding?" I asked.
"High...boss. I will take care of it, it's nothing serious." She whispered.
I was really anxious. I wish she could tell me immediately.
" I need to know now. Who did this to you?" I asked.
She looked at me without responding. I could read her mind. She was terrified and embarrassed.
I held her hand then looked at the bleeding bandaged hand.
" Won't you explain this, you are bleeding?" I looked into her eyes.
She removed her hand.
" I will explain, high boss." She uttered.
" Okay, I want to hear." I said.
" The director did this to me. He harasses me sexually Everytime I went to his office. Believe me, I didn't do anything bad." She expressed.
I was shocked the director could do that. He must have gone crazy.
" Please don't do anything, I can handle it." She said.
" What! He really harassed you?" I gasped.
" High...boss...I'm sorry" she said.
The director must have lost his mind to have done that.
Several thought crossed my mind, I was really anxious.
" He told me I'm going to lose my job if I tell anyone. I'm really sorry high boss!" She expressed.
" So he did all this things to you..." I pursed.
" Please don't do anything, I promise I will handle it." She said.
" How long has he been harassing you?" I asked.
" A month now. High... boss...." She pursed.
" Darn it! He has really crossed the line." I whispered.
" High boss...I'm sorry.. I didn't.
tell you." She stammered.
" He must have really gone crazy for what he has done." I said.
" I will handle it, high boss." She uttered.
I looked at her eyes with concern.
" How will I not do anything, my girlfriend is being harassed. He harassed you for a month now and he even wounded you." I expressed.
" High....boss..." She pursed.
In a moment, she began to cry. I was really uneasy. She has passed through a lot.
" You have been through a lot. I'm sorry I didn't notice earlier." I uttered.
" You didn't.. do anything......I stayed here.. because I wanted to see him. I thought.. I will.. find him earlier." She cried.
I was really surprised, she went through all that just to find me.
" So you went through this for your childhood friend?" I asked.
" High.. boss. Please... don't let.. him.. know... I told you. I will... get fired!" She stammered.
" I need to do something, I can't just seat back and watch. He has threatened you a lot. He harmed you and most especially, he harassed you. How am I going to seat back." I expressed.
" High...boss..." she pursed.
" Stop talking, I will handle it." I said.
She wanted to talk then I immediately hugged her.
" I will get fired if you take any steps." She said.
" That is why I'm here, you will never see him again." I whispered.
She began to cry hard. I could feel all the pain. I was really angry. He dared touch and threaten her. I will make him pay for all he has done.
I hugged her tighter as she cried. I was really mad at the director but I should make Claire stop crying first.
I must not let her see him again. He has done the most stupid thing and he will not go away with it.
" High..boss. I'm sorry I didn't tell you sooner." She whispered.
" You didn't do anything wrong. You were not at fault." I rubbed her hair.
" High boss..." She pursed.
" You can call me wright when we are alone like this." I whispered.
" Wright!" She uttered.
I released her then cleaned her eyes.
" Thank you, wright!" She said.
I smiled without responding. I knew what to do and I shouldn't let her know about it.
" Claire, it breaks my heart when you are in pain. I'm sorry I didn't know about this." I said.
" I will be fired if you try to do anything. I'm scared." She whispered.
I Held her hand and looked into her eyes.
" You don't need to be scared. You will not get fired." I said.
I tried my best till she finally let out a smile. At least, that was what I wanted at the moment. She should be happy.
" Let's get you treated now." I said as I looked at her hand.
" Okay." She said.
I made her sit on the chair then I applied some treatment to her wound.
After treating her. I let her go for her duty. She shouldn't be late.
I didn't go to the director's office that day. I called the soldiers then we head back to the military.
