Chapter 8: first kiss

Claire's POV
Four days passed, wright didn't wake up. Everyone waited for him to wake up like he did the first time but he didn't.
Mr Bob came to the hospital twice to ask me why wright was not opening his eyes.
He pressured me to do something, though it was just four days.
I was really terrified, i thought many times why high boss was not waking up.
I didn't know high boss is a really important person in the military. The director keeps threatening me to make sure he wakes up.
I was really terrified, did I do something wrong while performing a surgery on him. Even though I'm a doctor, I was scared of military.
I thought to myself ' what will I do now, high boss is not waking up. Did something went wrong?'
I have never been like this even in the past. My heart was heavy not because the director kept threatening me but because I can't let high boss die or let him get sick.
I went to his room in the evening that day. I sat on the chair beside him, staring at his handsome face.
I finally let out my worries. I sat closer to him intending to talk to him even though he was not awake.
" Please wake up, the director is worried about you. I'm really afraid the surgery was not a mistake." I stated.
In a moment my hands were wet.
Wright didn't wake up, what do I do. Tears flowed down my cheek, I was lost.
" Wake up as you did in the last surgery." I held his hand while I cry.
In a moment, wright woke up. It was like a magic to me.
" I'm up already." He whispered.
My heart beat faster then I released his hand.
I looked at him then he immediately sat up like he was up for so long.
He pulled me closer then kissed me.
I was shock. I was speechless. I felt everything.
" I.....am." I pursed.
" I'm up, you should stop crying." He looked into my eyes.
I cleaned my tears immediately then stood up.
" I will get......I'm going." I managed to talk.
" Why are you going." He asked.
" I will....be back." I stepped back.
I left the room without looking back. I could feel his gaze following me but I needed to calm my mind.
I was really happy he woke up but at the other side it was the opposite.

Wright's POV
I stood up from the bed thinking about Claire.
" Is it her first kiss or did I go too far?" I murmured to myself.
It was also my first time kissing a lady. I didn't know what I was thinking.
I dressed in my new army uniform then went back to the military.
I didn't see Claire in the hospital when I was going back to the military so I got worried.
Lazzie was going to the hospital to see me but he saw me from a distance.
He ran to me then hugged me.
" High boss is back home." He whispered in excitement.
" Yes, I'm always back." I smiled.
Lazzie released me then saluted.
I saluted back immediately.
" Mr bob have been waiting for you to wake up. He threatened miss Claire to make sure you wake up." He stated.
" Oh, I didn't know." I looked at the hospital in a distance.
" So...did you see her?" He questioned.
" Is it miss Claire?" I asked.
" Yes, who will it be." He grinned.
" I didn't see her when I was coming." I replied.
" Oh, okay. I wish you saw her, she was really worried about you." He whispered.
" We should stop talking about this." I said.
" Okay." He smiled.
I looked around the environment. It looked like I've stayed so long in the hospital even though it was few days.
" I really miss the sun in the city at home." He glowed.
" stop talking about home, I'm sure we will go home soon." I touched his shoulder.
He nodded.
" Let's go to the military, I have something to say." I said.
" Okay, is it about miss Claire?" He asked.
" No, about the military." I responded.
" Okay". He said.
We were about to go when one of the soldiers came to see me.
" High boss." He saluted.
I saluted back to him immediately.
" What are you doing here, did you have something to tell me?" I questioned.
" You are strong now, high boss." He smiled.
" Yes, always strong." I said.
" I was scared when I saw you covered in blood." He expressed.
" No need to be worried, I'm back now." I cheered him up.
" Mr bob asked me to check on you." He said soberly.
" Okay, did he wants to see me?" I asked.
" Something like that." He replied.
" You can go, I will meet him now." I said.
The soldier went back to the military while we walked behind him.
" You should go and see Mr bob now, he is really worried about you." Lazzie stated.
" Okay." I smiled.
When we got to the military, I immediately went to Mr Bob office.
I knocked on the door then he told me to come in.
" Good evening sir." I saluted.
" Wow, you are healthy now." A smile appeared at the corner of his lips.
" Yes sir." I replied.
" Have your seat." He said.
Mr bob smiled as I sat on the chair. He stayed silent for a while thinking about what to say next.
" The doctor will never forgive me." He stated.
I was confused, what is he talking about?
" Who are you talking about sir?" I questioned.
" It's doctor Claire, I kept disturbing her to find a way for you to wake up." He expressed.
So it's really true miss Claire was pressured, I never thought Mr bob will do that because of me. We are not that close as families.
" I'm here now." I smiled.
" Yes it good you are back here." He looked at me with relief.
" Thank you sir." I said.
So, let's go straight to the point." He said.
" Okay sir." I sat up.
" The two soldiers that were trapped are home now and all the men in the building were killed but we kept one here to tell us about their boss." He shared.
" Okay sir." I said soberly.
" I want you to threaten the man so we can know who leads them." He said.
" Okay sir." I responded.
" You should go and see him in the military prison on Thursday because we want him to look rest assured before starting." He continued.
" Okay sir." I responded.
He looked around the room for some seconds.
" That is all I have to say now." He said.
" Okay sir." I replied.
" You can go, I will reach out to you when there is other information." He said.
I stood up from the chair then saluted and left the office.
