chapter6
Isabelle POV
My eyes snapped open at 6 A.M on the dot. I try to sit up but an arm is keeping me down. Our positions have switched. Now with my head on Austin's chest and with Sebastian holding me from behind. I sigh and tug at Sebastian's arm. He tightens his hold and I sigh again. God I have to go check the perimeter. I wiggle around for a few minutes until I finally able to get up.
I stand and stretch.
Morning Ellie.
Hey Belle.
Up for a run? I ask her.
Yes! She starts jumping around in my head. Stop that will give me a headache. I tell her. She stops and I make my way to the mouth of the cave.
Alright, perimeter run and then we can go and check on Cassy.
I walk over to the tree and take my shirt off along with my pants and shift into my wolf. I let Ellie take control so that she can stretch and do as she pleases. She starts off in a slow run and later we are running as fast as we can go around the perimeter of my camp. While she is running and enjoying it, we are still looking for a danger. We circle around a couple of times before we decide that we should head back. I shift back and walk over to the tree where I had my clothes. I was pulling my shorts back up when I hear my name being called.
"Isabelle?!" I hurry to put my shirt on and try to make my way back inside. Austin and Sebastian come running out the same time I was going in and we run into each other. I fall back but before I could bust my ass, they catch me. They pull me up and check me for bruises. I mentally rolled my eyes.
When they've finished the pull me into them, which I thought would be weird, but it isn't. I hug them both back and after a minute they pull back. "Where were you?" Sebastian asks. I take a deep breath before telling him that I had to run the perimeter. Which led to both of them growling and telling me not to do it anymore unless I have someone with me.
"I have been doing this for 3 years." I growl. "I know how to take care of myself. If I didn't I would be dead, correct?" I ask rhetorically. They look at me for a few seconds and I look back at them. Once they see I am not going to back down, they sigh. "Fine. Next time at least tell us. We were worried." Austin says.
"I wasn't far. I'm fine."
"You were gone. We were worried that you changed your mind and left us." He voiced, making me pull back and look at him like he has blown a fuse. "Why would I do that? If I tell you something I mean it. I do not go back on my word." I tell the both of them offended. Why would I lie about something like that? Another rejection, especially two Alpha's would f*****g kill me. I shake my head to clear my thoughts.
"I have to go check up on Cassy." I tell them. I turn around and take off running. I haven't ran in my human form in a while. I hear them running behind me, and I sped up. It takes us about 15 minutes to reach the border and I stop. The twins stop behind me, breathing hard. "How.. can.. you.. run for so long.. without stopping." One of them pant out. I turn and see that they both were breathing hard but Sebastian is breathing harder than Austin, who has his hands on his head. I look back to Sebastian. "I have been doing this everyday, for the past 3 years." I say, not in the least bit out of breath. "Tell Alpha Nathaniel I need permission to cross his border. Please and thank you."
They look at me like I'm pennywise asking them if they want to come get their balloon from a f*****g volcano. I chortle and turn back.
I sit down and wait for someone to come to escort us. They could've went, after all they are visitors here. While me on the other hand, I am a rogue, that would send his border patrol into a frenzy.
"You two can go, I can wait. I know how to take care of myself." I tell them, closing my eyes. I feel them moving behind me until they both plopped down on either side of me. Since I'm sitting criss cross, both of them are touching me. Sebastian to my right, and Austin to my left. Austin cools me, where as Sebastian warms me.
I sigh and listen to my surroundings. I zone out for a while, but I am brought back when I hear my name being called. "Belle." I turn to look at Sebastian. The nickname makes blood rush to my ears. Even though Ellie calls me that, it's different coming him. I raise my eyebrow and look at him questionably. "What happened?"
My brow furrows. "What do you mean?"
"I mean why are you a rogue? Why were you rejected? I just want to know." I look at him for a moment before bringing my hands to my lap and looking at them. How do I explain that I am a rogue for no reason.. at all. "I don't know what to tell you. "I'm a rogue because my previous alpha didn't want me in his pack. And I don't know why I was rejected. He didn't want to be without a pack is what he told me. So that's that. He rejected me and my Alpha kicked me out of his pack.. on my birthday." I chuckle, despite the ache building in my chest.
Before he could ask anything else, I sense someone. I'm up on my feet looking around before I know it. I step forward and they question me. "What?"
"Someone is here. I don't know where though." They both stand and start looking around also. I turn to my right and I see someone sitting in the tree. I continue looking at them. Ellie? She doesn't say anything for a moment.
Don't give me control, you got it.. I huff. I growl, causing Austin and Sebastian to look at me. They follow my line of sight and let out a growl as well. The person sitting in the tree jumps down, and they stop growling and let out a laugh. It's the Beta. I roll my eyes and turn back to the twins. "How did you not sense him?"
"I don't know, princess. I have an assumption, but I need to speak to an elder here before I can believe it." Austin says. I ignore the fact that he called me princess and turn to Sebastian.
He shrugs his shoulders and I huff again. "Are you going to come on or are you just going to sit here and talk." the Beta asks. I growled lowly at him and he just smirks. I try to get closer to him, ready to wipe the smirk off of his face, when two sets of hands find themselves on my arms. I take a deep breath and calm down. "Let me go, I'm calm." They both seem apprehensive but let me go. The beta turns around and starts walking, and we follow behind him. We are walking for a couple minutes before I stop in my tracks. They all stop once they realize I'm not walking. They turn towards me and look confused. I shake my head and keep walking again. They pause for a second, and continue after me.
We make it to the pack house and I walk in while the boys stop.
I make my way to the living area, and see a couple of people present. They smell that I am rogue and growl. I ignore them and continue through the house. When I get into the kitchen I see the cook and a couple of kids. "Excuse me." he turns around to face me. "Can you tell me where Cassy and Nathaniel are?" he looks at me confused. "You mean Luna Cassandra and Alpha Nathaniel?" I nod. "They are in the library.. I believe someone was coming today." he says. He tells me where to go and I thank him and head to the library.
When I get to the library I knock. I hear a faint 'come in', so I twist the golden door knob and push the door open. Once I step inside I look around in awe. They have so many books. I'm snapped out of my shocked state when I hear my name being called.
"Isabelle!" I turn around just in time for Cassandra to come crashing into me. I steady the both of us and return her hug back. "Hey. Is everything alright?"
She nods and lets me go. I look her in her eyes and I see what she's not telling me. "Lets go talk somewhere, okay?" I look over to Nathaniel and give a slight nod.
"She's going to come with me. She will be kept safe." I tell him. We walk out of the library and she leads me somewhere we can talk. She takes me to an unoccupied room and we sit down on the bed.
"What's going on?" I ask her, my voice soft, but my voice filled with determination. She slumps her shoulders and pulls a sheet of paper from her back pocket and hands it to me. I open it up and it's not a note, like I thought, but a picture. Of her in a towel, might I add. There isn't a scent on the paper besides hers.
"When did you get this?" I ask her, though it's clear when she got it. Had she gotten it sooner than this morning she would've told me yesterday.
"I found it this morning when I was getting out of the shower. It was on the vanity mirror, where I normally comb my hair, and it was just sitting there." she stops and takes a deep breath. "But, Isabella, it wasn't there before I got in the shower. I know that because I was over there putting things back in their places.." She explained, voice quivering.
"You didn't tell Nathaniel, did you?" I ask her, already knowing the answer. She looks down at her lap. "You're gonna have to tell him, Cassy. I want you safe, and I know that he wants you safe also." She nods her head and I stand.
"Not now, not now. Please.." she pleads grabbing my arm. "What's going on? You don't seem like the type of person who would be scared." I tell her sitting back down.
"I just don't want him to know.. not yet. He loses his temper when I don't tell him things like this. And I don't want to deal with that. Not right now."
I nod my head and move closer to her. "Fine, not right now, but he needs to know later. " I tell her. She lays her head on my shoulder and I hold her.
"I will find who is doing this, and when I do I am going to kill them. Whether it be my previous Alpha or a puny little rogue that has it out for you.. I promise I will keep you safe. You remind me of Luna Elizabeth so much.. I won't let anything happen to you. I promise."

"WHAT?!" Nathaniel shouts. "WHY DIDN'T YOU SHOW ME THIS EARLIER?"
If you hadn't realized it yet, we told Nathaniel about the picture from earlier.
"Nathan I was going t-"
"GOING TO AND DOING SO ARE TWO DIFFERENT THINGS!" She flinched from his tone of voice and I stepped forward.
"Alpha Nathaniel, no disrespect intended, but I need you to calm down and understand why she didn't want to tell you." I told him. It wasn't a request. It was a command. He turned his gaze to me, not wanting to be told what to do. I let Ellie surface, not enough to have control, but enough to show that I was serious.
He looked like he was fighting with his wolf before he sighed, finally giving in to my command. I nod my head and turn to Cassy who was looking at me in shock.
It was unnatural for Alphas to follow orders, and by a rogue at that, so I could see why she was surprised. Hell, I surprised myself.
"Cassy, tell him why you didn't want to tell him so that he can understand." She gives me a nod, and an apprehensive look.
"N-Nathan.. You were going to lock me down, and you know I hate being locked down. I wouldn't be able to go anywhere without guards, and I like my privacy... please understand." He looks at her before shaking his head. "That doesn't mean anything. I just want you safe. This ISN'T safe." he tells her, holding up the picture she found earlier.
It's a picture of her getting out of the shower, dated a couple of days ago. I had to admit, I was pissed when I seen it earlier. If they were here before, why not just kill her then? Why wait?
"Nathaniel." I spoke lowly, but loud enough for the warning in my voice to be heard. He turns towards me and lets out an exasperated sigh.
"Can you leave for a second?" He asks. My eyes move over to Cassy. "I made a promise, I'm not going to leave." I cross my arms over my chest.
"I am telling you. It's a command, follow it." He growls.
"Command or no command, YOU are NOT my Alpha. You will NOT tell me what to do." I growl back, not meaning to be disrespectful, just not wanting to be told what to do. I hardly listen to Ellie, think I'm going to listen to him? f**k no. I feel Ellie clawing at my skin, wanting to make sure that our dominance is asserted.
He lets out a powerful growl, walking up to me. Ellie pushes a growl out, shaking the room. My growl as powerful as his, if not more. I feel my irises turning from their natural amber to shining electric blue. Cassy quickly walks up and stands in the middle of us.
"Calm down, she is going to stir the rest of the pack." She tells him, trying to push us apart. The twins burst through the library door and run to me. They each grab me, pulling me away from the heaving Alpha in front of me. I struggle against them before Austin picks me up and takes me out of the library, Sebastian following behind us. He takes me outside, and farther into the woods. He sits me down on the ground and takes a step back.
"You can't hurt him. You have to calm down, princess." Ellie pushes him into the nearest tree and growl.
"My name is Ellie." She growls.. "Not princess". He nods his head, putting his hands up in compliance. "That's a pretty name." He comments, making my cheeks burn.
"Thank you.." she mumbled. He smiles. "Your welcome, Ellie." he pauses and looks over my shoulder. "Can you give Isabelle back control now? I need to have a talk with her."
She nods and returns control to me.
"That's the first time she has ever done that." I speak out loud, more to myself than the twins. I drop my arm that was pinning Austin to the tree to my side and take a couple of steps back.
"Done what?" Sebastian asks. "Gave me control. Willingly." He nods and slowly walks to me. "Are you okay?" He frames my face with his hands and I close my eyes, relishing in the feel of the electricity I feel going through my body.
"I wasn't going to kill him. He just wouldn't cam down." I tell him in a diminutive voice. He nods his head and hugs me. I hug him back. I feel arms wrap themselves around my waist from the back; Austin.
I move one of my hands to his and lace our fingers. He squeezes my hand and I squeeze his hand back.
"I'm sorry." They squeeze me tighter.
We sit in silence for a moment, until Austin breaks it. "We have to go back.. " I pull back from the both of them.
"Where?" I ask. They share a look and look back to me. "To our pack, Isabelle."
