Chapter 3: Rejected

Alpha Dylan's POV

For the last 7-8 weeks, I've known that Esme is my mate. It's illegal for a wolf to tell an underage wolf that they are their mate, so even if I wanted to reject her, I couldn't. I paid the price for this secret in many ways. It humiliating to have such an embarrassment to join the family. It's the worst thing to ever happen to a fine Alpha like myself.

Deep down I will admit that I really wanted her sister to be my fated mate she's the one I love not Esme. She's nothing but a problem that needs to disappear, nothing but a lowly omega who works for us doing the s**t no one else can be bothered to do. She gets the odd beating if she's not compliant or if the job she's done is not up to standards.

She must have her wolf because by now as my wolf, Jared, is going absolutely wild in the back of my mind. He wants to accept her and mate with her but I can't have that. Once she notices me and once she sees that she is fated to me she will be excited but I know different. The kitchen falls into a chorus of chaos once again but I can tell she already knows I'm her mate with how her body tenses and she keeps her head bowed down, but this is a major setback to me being the Alpha and if I reject her then I have to do it today. Now even.

"No...No this isn't happening" she mutters, thankfully no one else hears her worries but me and even that takes a bit of a sharp twinge to my chest.

"Out. We need to talk. But not here."

She walks outside knowing what's coming I hope. Jared is going wild and it's doing my head in.

'She's our mate. She was made for us and she can become stronger. You can train her with our other fighters and warriors'

'Not now Jared!'

'If you reject her I will accept no other she-wolf as your chosen mate because she's our fate'

'JARED I SAID NO! She's too weak and our pack doesn't do weak'

"I'm sorry you've got me as a mate. I didn't ask for this I know you wanted Adeline to be your mate" she says so quietly and so timidly that I almost feel bad for this.

We reach her little run-down shack of a house and I smell her more and more everywhere and I can't resist her. I shut the door and pushed her to the wall. I'm just about to give in when I remember why I actually came here.

"Shut up" I say without hesitation not being bothered if I hurt her feelings or not.

"I don't want you. You are too weak you are nothing. Your body is disgusting and repulsive. It wasn't even Adeline who I wanted it was your sister that I wanted. The only person I have loved since I was a kid."

I see the tears run down her cheek but I make no movement to wipe them away. It's breaking her to hear this but I can't show my emotion towards her. It'll make me weak and she will hold it against me.

"Please don't do this. I'll get stronger and I'll work on my figure and my appearance just please don't do this" but I don't acknowledge her I just need to get out of here.

"I, Alpha Dylan Langley, Alpha of the waterside pack Reject you, Esme West pack member of waterside west to be my mate and Luna"

I feel the mate bond breaking slowly. It won't fully break until she accepts my rejection. Which she best do because I'm not being stuck with her.

After sighing, she looks at me. A cold face and stiff posture are what she's showing. The no emotion makes me think about this completely. She's waiting for me to say something. But I can't. Her eyes are dark with gold rims and they genuinely look terrifying. Why is she doing that?

"I, Esme West of the waterside pack accept your rejection to be your mate and Luna of this pack"

She turned around and muttered something. Probably calling me some form of a coward or prick in another language.

"Me lastimaste. Lo peor de todo es que me rompiste."

I didn't even know she studied another language let alone pronounce it perfectly.

"What did you just say to me?" I asked more intrigued and curious than annoyed.

She turns back around and speaks to me again.

"I said...Me lastimaste. Lo peor de todo es que me rompiste ...which translates to "You hurt me. Worst of all you broke me."

Okay now I have to go I can't be here any longer.

"Take tonight off. I don't want to see you at the ball and I don't want to see you anywhere near the pack house until tomorrow." When she doesn't respond I look her dead in the eyes and sigh.

"Understood?"

"Yes sir," she says with pure malice in her voice.

"I don't expect you to get cheeky to your Alpha. Apologise"

She doesn't say anything so I raise my voice a little harder for my command to make her obey. Obey like the little omega should.

"I SAID APOLOGISE" I shout at her. I hate disobedience and I hate Omegas who think they can do whatever they want and get away with it.

"Sorry"

I slap her so hard I even feel the stinging sensation on my hand. I pull her hair and Just as I'm about to say something to her the door flings open and in walks her Brother. Finley.

"And what do you think you are doing to my sister" He is protective of her, I respect him for that but I cannot stand either of them. Why they couldn't be like Daisy I have no idea.

"Making her obey her Alpha which is what you should do. Maybe teach the b***h some manners too"

I let go of her hair and realised I'd pulled some out. She's whimpering on the floor and is curled into a ball near the door. I walk out and I instantly find Adeline near the door. Listening and watching the scene unfold. Watching as I walk out of another woman's house after just rejecting her.

I hear my wolf whining in my head and my heart is slowly breaking more now that she has accepted my rejection but I don't let it show. I can't. The more I sit here the more it hurts and then Jared pops into my mind and talks to me like he's sat right in front of me. Like he is about to give me a life lesson on how not to be the biggest t**t on the planet.

"No f*****g way was she your mate"

"Not now Adeline" I didn't think she would actually listen to it all but now that I think about it, she has always shown some jealousy toward anyone who comes close to me and that brings me to my next assumption. "Wait...you listened to the whole conversation? A PRIVATE Conversation!"

"I had to see why you were following her back to her home when we had to get ready for the ball. Call me curious" She shrugs as she checks out her new manicured nails.

"You know what that did don't you" I ask with a sly smirk.

"What"

"It killed the kitty. In this case...the wolf"

She stops on the spot and glares at me. If looks could kill I'm sure she would have a very good field day In sending me 6 ft under.

"Look if I'm going to be Lu..."

"Don't even finish that sentence do you hear me?"

***During this Novel, you will have multiple POV's but the two main characters are Jaxon and Esme. Dylan, Finley and third POV are in the story but not the main people.***
