I glared at Aaron, my heart roaring in my ears, drowning out everything. He just stood there, jaw tight, arms crossed, his silence an accusation in itself.
What did I expect from him?
I shouldn't have let my feelings get the better of me.

He had nothing else to say to me. Of course.
"Do you want to go for a run?" Rexi asked. "Forget this asshole."
"Can I? Forget this asshole?" I asked with a scoff, shaking my head.
I let out a breath. My fingers curled around the doorknob, and I pulled the door open. The air outside was colder than I expected, but it felt better than the heat boiling beneath my skin.
