…Sam… …Samantha… …SAM! My eyes snapped open. Someone…was calling me. It was like I knew the voice but I didn't know it. I'd heard that voice before…had I? Perhaps it– My thought dissipated in milliseconds when my vision cleared and my surroundings came into view. The past events came flooding in. The forest in Crescent Pack… those three shitty guys…my busted lip… The left side of my head throbbed and I groaned. …A bag on my head! I immediately scrambled to my feet. Someone or rather some rogues had bagged my head and smashed it with some weapon?! Where even was I? The walls were grey and rough. Looked like a dungeon, but it was a little too neat to be a dungeon. The floor looked clean. I was kidnapped and tossed into a dungeon?! My first instinct was to scream for help but that would probably get me killed seven times faster than intended so I peeked through the bars instead. It definitely was a dungeon. There was what seemed like an endlessly long hallway with cells lined up on both sides. Even if I were to escape, what direction would I go? Left? Right? They both looked the same. No visible door in view, except the many dungeon doors. I was starting to panic. Where the hell was I?! I just wanted to take a stroll home and this was where I found myself! At this point I was getting convinced that the universe was against my happiness and peace. I was already going through a crisis back at home. And here I was. In the middle of nowhere. …Aunt Gabby Oh God She'd be looking for me. A pang of sadness hit me and I slumped down in a corner. I told her I'd be back before evening. What time was it even? This f****d dungeon had no windows so I couldn't tell. The sound of approaching voices sliced through the silence and my sad thoughts and I held my breath in anticipation. “The mission was done well, alpha Maverick will be proud” Alpha Maverick? Wait…THE Alpha Maverick?! In the werewolf world, alphas had ranks based on the obvious strength, dominance and pack size. Crescent Moon pack, my pack, was about average on the list. The pack topping the rank in this region of the earth was Lycans Brood Pack. Terrifying name for a terrifying pack. They'd NEVER lost a battle. At least that's what everyone says. The all powerful Alpha Maverick was their alpha. Somewhere along the line in his ancestral lineage, a lycan, which is literally an over powered werewolf, was involved. Amongst all the rumours that circulated about him, it was said that he was breathtakingly handsome. That he could captivate the whole room, male and female, when he stepped in. Everything about him radiated beauty…the most dangerous kind. He was like a beautiful blade. Alluring to the eyes, but at the same time fatal in every way. He was a murderous beauty. I'd never seen him before, but I felt they were exaggerating his beauty. Maybe he was fine…but surely not as ‘dashing’ as they say he is. I was intrigued But I didn't want to find out. Meeting him was not a wish or desire. He was an alpha, the strongest at that. Alphas never took it likely with intruders or suspects. So a picture would definitely be better than meeting in person. So if I was in his territory at the moment I'd better bash my already throbbing head against the wall and save his soldiers the stress. Maverick's POV I stood tall and looked down at my subjects in my throne room. For some reason I wasn't paying attention to whatever they were saying. A case of spies had been reported to me some days ago. My pack security was top notch. Leaving or coming into my territory unnoticed was next to impossible. So whoever those were, they had to be really good to actually slip past them. “Alpha” I held back my sigh and faced Dave, my Beta. He had an impatient look on his face. “The spies have all been captured. The soldiers are waiting for your command” The loud creaking of the dungeon doors echoed down it's gloomy hallway. I'd decided to meet the spies one on one. How they would respond to me would determine whether I'd keep them and make them work for me or hang them upside down to die. The first guy was beyond logical. His stuttering and wailing pissed the hell out of me. No point keeping him. The second guy was way older than expected. That scored him a point. He seemed cunning too. We'd have to keep a close eye on him, but for the mean time he proved useful. Approaching the last spy, my breath caught for a moment. A young werewolf with the wildest mass of curly hair I'd ever seen. I wasn't one to admire hair but I felt the nagging need to run my fingers through hers. I could imagine…it'd be soft and full. Perfect to pull on. The dim light of the dungeon didn't stop me from noticing the warm olive tone of her smooth skin. Round bosoms. They looked like they would fit perfectly in my hands. Perfect My eyes trailed down to the most gorgeous legs I'd ever seen. I instantly knew where I wanted them. Her slender waist gently led to perfectly curved hips. She was beautiful. My thoughts of admiration vanished in the blink of an eye when our eyes met. The burning intensity in them struck a nerve. No one dared hold eye contact with me. My aura could oppress even the toughest soldier, yet she glared at me with utmost audacity. My anger rose and I stood to my full height, forcing my aura out the more. Being an alpha, no one could easily withstand my aura. Her demeanor wavered. I smirked inwardly. I was getting to her. “Open the door” The dungeon doors creaked loudly as they were swung open and I stepped in. “Who are you?”
