I woke to a familiar pain and cried out as the doctor rushed in.
“Luna?”
“No, it can’t be happening.” I gasped, “I trust him. Could it be I am still bonded to Jacob?” I asked grasping at straws. I didn’t want to believe it could be Chase causing this pain.
“No, I am sure that particular bond was broken when he accepted your rejection,” Bailey said as she examined me.
It was so painful tears begin to stream down my face. Then just as fast as it began the pain stopped and I was able to breathe again. Only knowing it was caused by the love of my life I couldn’t stop the flow of tears. My mate, My Chase betrayed me. That hurt worse than the pain itself. I was crying so hard I was unaware of what Doctor Bailey was doing to my IV until I felt sleepy. Then all went black.
