Asteria POV When we arrived at the gates to Olimp I couldn’t help but to feel like something was going to go terribly wrong. I left an exaggerated sigh and nervously straightened my black robes. “Honey, everything is going to be alright.” Dad reassuringly put hand on my arm and patted lightly. “We are right here with you and we won't leave your side.” “It’s just… I don't know. I have this feeling that I shouldn't be here. I know it's irrational but I know that it won't go as smoothly as I wish. I feel like chaos is swirling around me, it's not a good feeling either. I am a little bit nauseous. I'm telling you, s**t is gonna go down” My mom tsked at me and shook her head. “You spend too much time with wolves, their language is affecting you.” She stood in front of me and looked me deeply in my eyes. “I trust your judgment, I know Fates are really close to you and they are letting you know glimpses of the future, but we still have to fulfill Zeus’s request. Whatever we may think of him and others, we still are part of the pantheon and we have duties to attend. One of those duties is to present our offspring on the day of their 19th birthday to other gods. We are a community and we all have responsibilities. Once you officially become one of us it's up to you if you want to partake in the pantheon affairs. I won't force you, I promise. It's just this one day.” “I know mother, I'm sorry, I don't want to get you or dad in trouble. I promise to behave. And to watch my words, I'll be a good girl.” I smiled at them as mom kissed my cheek. Whatever happens I know I can count on them. They won't let anyone hurt me, even Zeus. “I am ready, let's get this over with.” I said and raised my head up. I am the daughter of Moon Goddess, they should respect me. We went through one set of gates and before we entered the throne room an angel bowed to us and announced our arrival. “Goddess of Moon and Soulmates Selene, her husband God of the Calmness Endymion and their first born, Asteria.” His voice boomed when the large, heavily decorated gold doors opened and we entered the throne room. Right in front of us, across a large room stood a massive, gold throne, encrusted with diamonds and other precious stones, and on that throne sat, no other than Zeus himself. Chalice in one hand, he scratched his big, hairy belly with the other. I shivered with disgust, not wanting to visibly gag at that sight. He looked just the way I imagined. Tall, round, fat, big man with silver beard and hair. His golden eyes matched expensive robes he wore. Not bothering to cover his torso or stomach he stood up and raised his hands. “Ah Selene, finally I get to meet your offspring. You did quite well with this one, she is beautiful.” He obviously left out my father, again. I bit my lip, trying to contain any witty response or curse word that wanted to escape. Breath Asteria, only a few hours and you can go back home and never return here. “Thank you for your invitation Zeus, me and my husband tried to raise her well and show her all worlds with their wonders and flaws. It was quite a journey but finally we returned home.” “I’m glad you are here little one, I've heard you have some interesting powers as well. Even Fates are praising you and they spare rather few compliments. Come closer, let me take a good look at you.” Zeus waved his hand at us and sat back at his throne. I sighed and slowly approached the throne, looking around gods that sat around the room. Immediately I was able to recognize some of them. I may never have met them, but I wasn't ignorant either. I listened closely when mom told me all about the gods of our realm. On the right side from the king of gods I could spot Hera, as she obviously sat next to Zeus, Athena with an owl on her arm, beautiful Aphrodite who looked at me with jealousy i think? I looked some more and spotted only gods that I met before, apart from my parents of course. In the back sat Helios and Eos, my mother siblings, I smiled at them and aunt Eos waved her hand at me. Left from Zeus sat a man with a long beard, looking bored and clearly out of his element, Hephaestus, I believe. Then gorgeous twins Apollo and Artemis and another man. He had neatly trimmed gold hair and very dark, almost black eyes. He was staring at me intensely and i didnt like it one bit. His stare was dominating, dark and intimidating. From his attire I assumed it was the god of war, Ares, himself. I shivered when a bad feeling went right up my spine and quickly averted my eyes from him. I saw him smirking in the corner of my eye. Finally I stood in front of Zeus. “Even more beautiful from close up.” He laughed frivolously and looked at me from head to toes. Oh Gaia, I hate every minute of this day. I took a deep breath. “Thank you Zeus Hypsistos. I couldn't wait to meet you and finally be a part of the pantheon.” I lied right through my teeth. I couldn't wait to be out of here for sure. “I've waited with anticipation for the title you grant me.” I bowed lowly, pretending high respect. Well if he could read minds I surely would be f****d, but gladly, he has no such ability. I can call him all the swear words I know in my head. “Beautiful and respectful. You will be a good wife one day. I hope you will end up with one of my children.” Disgust flooded me in waves now. Like hell I want to be part of his messed up family tree. I mean, banging your own sister? Who does that?! Calm down or you're gonna throw up. Lucky me, Zeus quickly changed the topic. “But enough of that. I bet you can't wait for your designated title? Hecate, you may proceed.” I gave him a tight lipped smile and looked at the Goddess of Witchcraft who approached me. I quickly glanced at my parents and they nodded their heads. Great, they don't think I messed up. That's a good start. Maybe this won't be as terrible an experience as i thought? Hecate held my hands and I felt warmness that spreaded through my body. Her powers of witchcraft can help her determine what aspect I am a patron of. Well, I know very well that my powers are firmly combined with the stars and chaos, the first force in the universe, but Zeus needs reassurance from his trusted helper, I guess. Hecate left my hands and without a word she went straight to Zeus and whispered something in his ear. “Interesting…” he whispered looking at me and then he stood up. “Gods, goddesses, family. I give you today a new member of our sacred pantheon.” “Goddess of Stars and Sorcery, Asteria.”
