Chapter 17: Beautiful Soul

It is hard to believe that time moves so fast. I've been growing so fast, Istilllremembersr the days when my dad keep on pushing me to do other things than studying alone, he always wanted me to be that, this and all. Now I am kindnofconfusedaboutr what I wanted to do, I was always been good at school, but this third year made me question myself am I still on the right track or am I missing some information in my life?

"Thylane, I want you to become like this when you grow up." My dad told me, while he was pointing at the woman in a suit in the movie, I guess they were in the trial court and she is a lawyer. At that moment I just stared at my dad, wondering why he wants me to be a lawyer, isn't he aware that I am into space studies. I want to study the universe. I wanted to tell him that but after the movie, he went outside again to go to the work.

I understand that they needed to work for my future but it just feel like I am always being left behind. I was always alone here at our house, playing with my toys and when it was Saturday I went to the garden to meet up with my one and only friend.

"Thylane, I've new books for you." My dad told me, I smiled at him, I know he choose a good book again and it will be a blast. He opened his suitcase and gave me an encyclopedia. I stared at him and he just tapped my head.

"It's good to read a lot of this, Thylane. It will help you soon." He said and gave me the books. I thought he will give me a Physics book but he just gave me an encyclopedia. But well yeah it's good to read to.

It makes me wonder why dad has a lot of dreams for me, I was so lost along the way having so many things to think about. But still, I will what makes me feel at ease being the most perfect and brilliant student. Even though Marcus and Zion are now blocking my way from reaching the valedictorians, I will not back out I will fight and I will play the game accordingly It is not about being valedictorian anymore it is about making the right decision on what would be my course for college. I have been losing my mind thinking about what should I do to college. What will be my course and what university should I enter?

"Damn," I said to myself while I am looking at the mirror again holding my journal book way way back then. The scene of my dad and mom at the dean makes me wonder again if the student will know that they are my parents they will make some issues about me that will be my downfall.

"Thylane." Speaking of, my mom called me from the outside of my room.

"Yes, mom?" I asked her politely, I may have a bad relationship with them but I still know to respect them accordingly because they still deserve it,

"Thylane, will be flying all the way to France I hope you will understand that are we clear?" My mom asks me and I just nodded, another business meeting I hope they will close the deal accordingly. It will be a waste of time if they will not close the deal with them.

"It is okay mom, take care," I said and my mom smiled at me, she hugged me, and then dad came into my room to hug me too. I do not know the reason why they are extra sweet today, are they going to live with me for a long time?

"Thylane, we will stay there for a week, is it really okay with you?" My dad asks me again. I made a second thought on that, so I was right again they will leave me for weeks again just like before it was always been like that.

"Yes, dad," I answered.

"We can talk to your dean for you to absent tho.,"

"No dad, mom, it is alright I can stay here or at the library of Mr. Bookie, I love reading books too so I will not get bored here easily," I said and smiled at them.

They really leave me at home all alone and all I did was to feed the kids at the park. I cooked a lot of cookies, I forgot that this week was actually our break from all the academics and it was so exciting for me, finally I can go back to my favorite place to give them books and teach them as well as eat with them. I can not do it while my parents were around they might scold me just like when I was still a kid.

Seeing them become happy while eating m,y baked cookies makes me reme, ber the good old days the time when I do not have any friends but the kids from here, I do not see those kids anymore in this village they might go somewhere else and I hope they are happy with the life they are living now just like how they made me happy by being with them the whole day. Seeing the kids play under the heat of the sun with their big smiles makes me smile to it is so relaxing seeing them that way, no other traumas just fun. they are all just having fun. But while enjoying the view of the kids I saw some familiar faces.

"What on earth is Zion doing here? The kids love him too, what?" Thylane asks herself that question, she can't internalize the scenario especially seeing the bully in the school making the kids happy.

"Do you know him?" I asked the kid beside me and she nodded.

"He is the brother we are talking about last time sister Thylane. He is kind and gives us spaghetti and chocolates, he also gives us ballons different shapes but mostly heart-shaped." Thylane was taken aback by what the kid told her.

So all the gifts he receives from his fans he gave it here. what a heartless flirt he is, so disgusting. Zion saw her and he smirked, Thylane rolled her eyes knowing that he will just ruin her beautiful day with the kids.

"Hey, softie. Ow, it is so lovely to see you feeding the kids." He said teasing her.

"What are you doing here?"

"Why on earth you were in this place knowing that you are a bully and a bad guy, who rejects all the girls at school, hmmm?" Thylane asks him and he just laughs first before answering her question.

"Oh how lovely, my softie sounded jealous." Zion teases her again and the kids heard it so they joined him in teasing her she was about to roll her eyes again but she remembered that she is part of this kid's life already and they know her as a woman with a beautiful soul.

"Is she your girlfriend, brother?" the kid asks him and he nodded.

"Oh, yiies, like we have our parents already, mommy Thylkane and Daddy Zion what a very lovely couple." The kid teases them and zion enjoys it, until afternoon they keep on teasing them and Zion is enjoying it while Thylane is losing her mind she wanted to go home already but she knows that she keep her promise and it is to stay with the kids until there is no visible sunlight, she promised them that they will watch the sunset together so she keeps it.

The kids finally stop on teasing them but they asked them to join them to play. Thylane did not disagree and she really played with them She is laughing smiling and enjoying the games they were playing.

Zion, on the other hand, can't take his eyes off Thylane, he knows that Thylane is not looking at him because she is annoyed at his presence but Zion was captivated, he was too stunned by Thylane's natural wavy hairs and genuine smiles. He finally saw her smile the way he wanted her to smile, and in that very moment, the only thing he wanted is to keep those smiles. So he did not tease her more but let her enjoy the company of the kids playing with her.

They also tried cotton candies that made them laugh all the way. They did not know that they were already there for almost half a day, they rested on the grass when they are already tired of playing and running around. Zion lays beside Thylane not to tease her but to take a closer look at her, Thylane does not care about his presence so he takes the opportunity to memorize her face smiling from her side visually.

"Brother we took photos of you two." The kid suddenly told him and handed him his phone he have forgotten that he let the kid borrow his phone and when he take a look at the photo it came out well, looks like a cute couple dating at the park.

But we are not even friends. his minds whispers that made him laugh the kids thought that he loves the picture that why he laugh so they tease him again

"The sun is almost out!" The kid jump out of her excitement and when we take a look it was actually happening the sun is now settling down.

It feels so fulfilling seeing Thylane's genuine smiles and laughter a worth it day, makes my break whole again. A beautiful soul that I have met a while ago, I did not mean to tease her but she just got me to have a little crush on her.

Damn, boys are soft-hearted dudes!

Thylane smiled again when he saw the sun settling down, it was peaceful because as the sun settles her have her smile, she can't remember when was the last time she enjoys the beautiful sunset now she finally can smile.

Sunset feels like a message of a beautiful goodbye to the sorrowful days that are already gone.

"Bye sister, thank you for today," the kid wave their hands at Thylane and Zion and they waved their hands back to them too.

"It was a beautiful day, see you, next time sister, we will wait here if you have time again, we will miss you."

The kid told them that made a warmth in their hearts, it always touches her heart seeing the kids so thankful for her.

Thylane was about to walk away when Zion called her.

"Thylane."

"Why?" she asked and stops for a while, he gave her a sign to wait for him so she waited.

"I saw you smile genuinely a while ago, it is good, you look good too." Zion complimented Thylane, which made her thump, it feels the first time someone on her age complimented her for smiling that way.

"Seeing those kids makes me smile genuinely, they are fragile, fun to be with and careless, they are not judgmental to that's why I love smiling in front of them, they are so real."

"Katie is real to you too but why?"

"It is different, Katie I am her home friend, and why the heck you are so curious about my life now huh?" She asked him.

"I am always been curious about you, you just notice it by now. Anyways please wear those more often."

|"Thylane did not get his words so he gave him a questioning look, he smiled before answering her.

"That smile, the genuine one, you look more beautiful with that rather than your serious face."

She sighed and nodded, but she is not that willing to, Zion makes her feel secure at some point but she could not be fallen on his trick.

"You look happy too a while ago, I did not know that you have a beautiful soul," Thylane teases him and he laughs at her.

"Well, I either did not know how can I react earlier seeing you doing such a thing with the kids, you do not even know them."

"That place, became my favorite p; place whenever I am too tired reading my books."

"Since childhood, you have been reading I hope you can read between the lines too when someone admits that they like you."

"Anyways bye Thylane, I will be going home, take care."

Zion waved his hands and Thylane was still standing there stunned to speak and walk, she did not know how would she react to those words, it feels like something new.

The next day Thylane gave their dogs a walk around their village, she bathe them after and went to the library near their village.

The break ended and the students went back to their school, as her usual thing she went to the dean to pass the papers and all, she notices that the dean is eyeing on her so she smiled at him. Maybe they know now that her parents are rich that they can buy this school.

Thylane Santos, she saw that written on a notebook on the side table of the dean and she takes a look at him, he hide the notebook and he smiled at her.

"Thylane Santos, I hope you still have a lot of time aiming for the valedictorian, Marcus and Zion are doing good in their academics lately."

"I know miss and I am working harder for this, I will strive harder to get in there miss, but if my effort is not enough then it is still fine for me. I can still adjust on my 4th year here." She said politely and the teacher and Dean smiled at her.

"I am going out now miss, dean." she politely said it to the officers and they just nodded.

"Thylane!" Katie called her and she runs to her.

"you know what I hear that the bullied kid from here was hospitalized and severely traumatized." Katie suddenly told Thylane the news.

"I heard about that news too but no one knows where is she right now, maybe she is still on medication. It must be so painful for her." Thylane answered and Katie nods.

"It makes me feel wanted to cry hearing the rumors about what have they done to the kid, she is just a selfless kid but what have they done to her is disgusting and should not be done to anyone, it is not a good idea at all."

"You are right, I hope the student council will work harder next school year."

"Wait don't let go of the position, you deserve that, look allthroguhtout your regime there were no kids being bullied because they are all scared of you," Katie told Thylane and Thylane just made a small smile,

"Maybe it was good, but it is tiring and I need to investigate something." She said and Katie gets excited about it.

"Ow, that sounds cool I hope I can accompany you. I will love investigating too."

"It is a qualitative and quantitative research I need to balance it, I need to dig deeper as well as be better all of the time. I need to know the reasons for the pains and gains." Thylane said and Katie nodded

"Is it connected to the bullying issue?" Katie asked her through whispering and she just nodded.

But that was not just about that, Thylane wants to know the reasons behind the sudden action of her parents in making connections with the Dean of this school when dad hated him all the time. He wants to know her parent's secrets and the bullying incident, who is she, and what has she done to suffer that way, who bullied her, and who made her life a living hell.

"It excited me Thylane, I will always accompany you on your research. I would love to join forces with you we should include Marcus in here." She suggested and she nodded, They will start right now and the moment that her being the student council presidency expires she will take the action to ask help from the outside departments to sue the Dean or anyone.

"Then we will have an exciting third year then." Thylane said as she smirks Katie jumps out of excitement.

The third year feels so young but my mind is settled to searching for the answers to the history lost and bad rulings they need justice the bullied kids, the bad teacher, the money hungry dean, and the school owner should pay tribute. They are the reason why there are kids not willing to study because they degraded them so real, Now I am here not putting my limits into just studying but making sure that they will be paying for the damages they have caused to the kids in the past. The is no such thing as the past is past when they did not get the justice they deserve it was always been to be that way, justice for all not just for the wealthy one. We need a balance injustice system no more money agreement, it should emphatically be done.

No one is young, not us high schoolers, age is just a number but mindset is all about, we are kids but rich minded, we know things more than the oldies, they should be careful when we spit or research for the truth, we will gain the justice we deserve not just because worked hard for it but because we know that we deserve it.

Who is involved and who will pay tribute?

"Thylane Santos is my name," I told myself in front of my mirror.

I am limitless I will search for the truth and spill the facts I have known, my parents raised me well that I will stand for the bullied person in the school.

Kids are not just kids, we are the future.
