Getaway.

I woke up early in the morning, I decided to wear wide-leg denim jeans paired with a white top, I even wore a Gucci belt plus sling bag. I am not sure if Zion was serious with his suggestion yesterday to meet me at the park. But if he won't come it is still okay. I brought my book to avoid boredom if Zion won't come, I don't consider him to come tho.

I toasted a loaf of bread and make choco milk as my breakfast. Then after eating I washed the dishes, locked the doors, and made sure that our dog has eaten. I leave our dogs there and walk towards the park. I saw kids playing at the swings while laughing happily, I wished I was still a kid who can enjoy life. As I reach my favorite spot I sat there and started to read my book.

I don't know this book, I have just seen it placed on my study table, maybe dad bought it or mom, I don't know even. I just loved it and I want something to read while staying here. I was about to flip the book page when someone speaks.

"Went here to just read?" Zion said and as I look up at him, he smiled.

"I have my words, softie." He said and gave me a mango shake, I just get and thanked him.

"Thanks."

"You know what, you should be happy, it was your late birthday celebration." He said as he sips on his mango shake.

"I am happy tho," I answered.

"Happy? By just reading a book here. Well If that's your happiness it counts tho." He said and stopped talking.

Maybe he realizes that I am not like them who love staying out and celebrating, well I am an introvert.

"Does Kattie know your birthday?" He asked.

"No, I was then surprised that you know my birthday," I said honestly.

"Maybe because we're soulmates." He said teasing me.

"Funny." I sarcastically said.

"I don't get it, why do people love staying on their own. I mean, why don't you enjoy playing around?"

"Well if you don't want to answer me, it's okay. I understand."

"Are you done with our science assignment?" He asked.

"Yes," I answered, I am done with it even before the stage mix.

"You're undeniably genius!" He said and talked about nonsense things. He was so noisy and full of topics he would be a great teacher in the future by his attributes.

"Do you have dogs?" He asked.

"Yes."

"Dude, our dogs, yesterday they ruined my mom's plants and mom didn't even get angry like you know how it felt to be betrayed. The last time I get some leaves of my mom's plants for our science research she just scolded me real hard! Dude life is so unfair. They love the dog more than I do. I don't get it those dogs only leave shits around the house and it is so hard to clean!" He is said. I just laughed at him.

"Another thing, you know what our cat who ate my fish. I was about to scold the cat but my mom caught me, she said she will buy me new fish but ended up nothing. My aquarium was left empty now. I just hate it, she loves her cat, she doesn't consider what I felt when I lost my son." He said acting so hurt by what happened to his fish.

"You know what I have an idea." He said. I looked at him.

"What?" I asked.

"Hmm, well I lost my son, so will you accompany me to buy a new one?" He asks me. Well I have nothing to do then, and it was boring to just stay here in the park, I will just remember my lost childhood.

"Well yeah, It is boring to stay here tho," I said and get up.

"Yes!" He shouted and helped me get up.

We walked by until we saw a bus going to the marketplace. We stayed at the back for the bus is kind of full of passengers. While riding he keep on talking, he never stops and I just let him. His noisy a*s mouth made the atmosphere cool and not boring. The bus stop and we went outside to go to the marketplace, he was busy looking at the fish and I just can't relate to him, I am not even a fan of fish, I prefer cats and dogs rather these water creatures. Not just because they are high maintenance they scare me too. I just pretend that I don't feel scared at all but dude my soul is shouting to leave this place immediately.

I went out of the store to lessen my fear, I just looked at the rabbits outside the store they were cute I want to buy one but I am scared that I will not have time for them. It scares me to let my pets left behind as how my parents leave me at home not relying upon only myself alone.

"Hey," Zion called me, I noticed that he didn't buy anything there.

"Where's the fish?" I asked him, hiding my fear in my voice. I saw him smile and pat my head.

"I think we should go to that coffee shop," Zion said and pointed out the Delightful cafe. I just nodded, he accompanied me in crossing the road. He opened the door for me and as the cafe door opens, I heard confetti and a group of people singing the happy birthday song for me. I roam around and saw Kattie and Marcus. Kattie was holding a cake and Marcus wears a party hat. Zion was at my back supporting me because I was stunned at the moment.

I can't hear anything but I can see their smiles. After long years of not celebrating, here I am.

"Happy Birthday Thylane!" Marcus and Kattie shouted.

"Happy Birthday softie, it's time to blow your candle," Zion whispered from my back that awakening my soul.

"Thank you." I said and I closed my eyes to make a wish and blown the candle.

"Yes! We have succeeded in surprising Thylane!" Kattie shouted and hugged me, I hug her back.

"Thanks." I said.
